In Gislaved, we have a joint Career Guidance (SYV) organization. We are located at different schools and have a common manager. The SYV organization consists of six people, and we have a good and close collaboration with joint meetings.

In the municipality, we have a work plan for how all staff at the schools should work actively to ensure that our students get a better basis for decision-making regarding their future studies and career choices. Furthermore, there is a person working part-time as a School and Working Life Developer who, together with career guidance counselors and others, focuses on career guidance in a broad sense. This is a structured and systematic collaboration between school and working life throughout the student's entire school career.

Job Responsibilities

You will work as a Career Guidance Counselor at Lundåkerskolan in Gislaved.

Within the framework of your assignment, you will work with young people in compulsory school and prepare them for the transition to upper secondary school and the educational choices they will make. Your duties include, but are not limited to:

• Conducting professional guidance interviews individually or in groups.
• Providing information in classes and to guardians.
• Collaborating with other professions in Student Health Care.
• Collaborating with educational providers.
• Collaborating with the business community.
• Working with guidance in both a narrow and broad sense, including collaboration with other school staff.

You will work with career guidance based on the Education Act and current regulatory documents.

Qualifications

You are educated as a Career Guidance Counselor.

You have good collaboration skills, are structured and stable as a person, and see the breadth of the entire operation. We would like you to have a relational approach and be able to see different exciting future possibilities together with the students. You find it easy to meet other people and have a desire to contact students, parents, and colleagues. To thrive with us, it is important that you have a genuine interest in other people with different backgrounds and from different cultures.

Your teamwork is deeply linked to your ability to collaborate and participate in the development of yourself and the operation. With us, this means that you have good cooperation with your manager and colleagues, both at your own workplace and in the rest of the municipal group. You treat everyone with a high level of service, kindness, and high quality through a customer and service focus. You take responsibility for participating in operational issues and are solution-oriented.

We apply register checks (extracts from the criminal record) as a form of suitability assessment for all offered employment in operations where there is direct and regular contact with children and young people.

The position will be filled subject to necessary decisions being made.
