We are looking for a school counselor who wants to contribute to a safe and meaningful school experience for students. In this assignment, you will work closely with the students by building relationships, creating a sense of security, and providing space for supportive conversations. The school is located in Älghult and has approximately 80 students in grades F–6.

About the role

As a school counselor, you play a key role in the school's student health work. Your tasks may include relationship-building initiatives, value-based exercises at the group level, and individual support conversations with students. You will serve as a support for both students and staff regarding issues such as mental health, social interaction, and conflict resolution. Your work will be both preventive and remedial, focusing on creating safety and improving the students' daily school life.

Responsibilities include:

• Individual support conversations with students
• Relationship-building initiatives and value-based exercises
• Participation in student health team meetings
• Collaboration with school staff, guardians, and other stakeholders
• Contact with social services and other external agencies when necessary
• Documentation and use of Allbry's digital tools

Scope and conditions:

• Scope: 16 hours/month (e.g., 8h every other week or 4h/week)
• Location: On-site at the school in Älghult, with occasional opportunities for planning time from home
• Employment type: Fixed-term employment, 6 months with good prospects for extension
• Start: Beginning of the autumn term

Qualifications

• Social work degree (Social Work), or currently completing a social work education
• Previous experience as a school counselor is meritorious
• Experience working with children, especially in supportive counseling roles
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Good collaborative skills and relationship-building competence
