Do you want to work with technically complex water and wastewater issues and contribute to long-term sustainable solutions for the future network?
Our colleague is retiring, and we are therefore looking for a replacement Investigation Engineer within Water and Wastewater (VA) for our Project & Investigation department. Here, you will have an important specialist role where, together with engaged colleagues, you work with analyses, technical investigations, and long-term solutions that make a real difference, both today and for future generations. At Hässleholm Miljö, we work on what truly matters. Through forward-thinking, consideration, and clarity, we develop sustainable solutions for people, the environment, and society's future.
About the role
As an Investigation Engineer, you work with technically oriented water and wastewater investigations and serve as a qualified support in matters concerning network infrastructure, renewal needs, and technical solutions within the water sector. You belong to the Project and Investigation unit within Water and Wastewater, which is responsible for driving and participating in technical and strategic investigations as well as larger investment projects. This may involve various permits, water protection areas, cadastral matters, new wastewater and water treatment plants, and network renewals, among other things. The unit consists of a total of nine employees, including project managers, investigators, subscriber engineers, environmental engineers, and cartographers. We are a group with broad competencies responsible for the entire chain, from strategic early investigations and permit processes to fully designed solutions and completed construction works.
The role involves independent and analytical work where you investigate how the network infrastructure connects, identify the need for measures, and produce technical documentation for decisions, design, and procurement. You work with water and wastewater issues throughout the entire process, from early investigations and analyses to final review documentation and implementation.
You will become an important specialist function in the operations with significant impact on the extensive investment and renewal work that takes place within the water sector. Together, we work long-term to secure and develop the municipality's water supply, both today and for the future.
Your working days are varied, and you collaborate closely with colleagues, project managers, contractors, and other actors in various types of water-related issues.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Conducting and coordinating technically oriented water and wastewater investigations.
- Analyzing network infrastructure and investigating technical connections and solutions.
- Initiating and driving investigations for long-term sustainable systems for stormwater, drinking water, and wastewater.
- Producing technical documentation prior to design, procurement, and investments.
- Investigating issues related to renewal work and expansion areas.
- Managing and coordinating water-technical questions in different stages.
- Driving and producing documentation related to orders and external questions.
- Participating in the work with development agreements and long-term water solutions.
- Having contact with authorities as well as other internal and external actors in the field.
This is you!
We are looking for you who enjoy analyzing, investigating, and solving technical problems. You have a structured way of working and like to delve into complex issues where details and the whole need to fit together.
To succeed in the role, we believe you are analytical, self-initiative, and solution-oriented. You take responsibility for your tasks and drive your work forward in a methodical way.
The position requires that you have:
- Post-secondary education.
- A few years of relevant work experience.
- Good computer skills and a digital working method.
- Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
- Category B driver's license.
It is meritorious if you have:
- An engineering degree or equivalent in, for example, water and wastewater, construction, or civil engineering.
- Experience from the water and wastewater industry.
- Experience in design or qualified investigation work.
- Experience with AutoCAD or the Water Bank (VA-banken).
- Knowledge of English.

Here, you have the opportunity to work with technically advanced and socially important issues in a business with major future investments and development opportunities.
We offer:
- An important specialist role with significant impact on the future water system.
