Strategic Buyer for the Swedish Red Cross
The Red Cross is looking for an engaged and development-oriented buyer for our central organization. In this role, you will have the opportunity to combine strategic and operational purchasing with business development – while simultaneously contributing to our humanitarian mission.

About the role
As a buyer, you are responsible, in collaboration with the property and contract manager, for developing and ensuring efficient, sustainable, and structured purchasing within the organization. The role combines strategic and operational purchasing work with the development of processes, analysis, and internal competence.
You will work closely with several functions within the organization, such as the property and contract manager, logistics, area managers, and the operations as a whole. This is a broad role with significant contact both within the organization and with suppliers. For the right person, there will be great opportunities to develop the role. The buyer is part of the Finance and Purchasing unit.
Main responsibilities:
- Drive and conduct tenders and negotiations
- Develop and implement category strategies
- Create and further develop efficient purchasing processes and policies
- Ensure compliance with guidelines and framework agreements
- Prepare analyses and decision support materials for management
- Propose actions based on spend analysis and follow-up
- Train and support employees on purchasing matters
- Contribute to increased purchasing maturity in the organization
About you
We are looking for someone who:
- Has at least 7–10 years of experience in operational and strategic purchasing
- Has strong analytical skills and a structured working method
- Is pedagogical and enjoys training and supporting others
- Has good collaboration skills and builds trust within the organization
- Works proactively and has the ability to independently drive process improvements within the organization
You have:
- Post-secondary education in purchasing, economics, logistics, or equivalent
- Experience in tendering, negotiation, and contract work
- Experience in analysis (e.g., spend analysis, KPIs)
- Very good knowledge of Swedish and English

Additional information
The position is a permanent full-time role located at our office on Lindhagensgatan in Stockholm. We apply goal-oriented working hours and flexible work arrangements, meaning you have the opportunity to work from another location up to two days a week, based on the organization's conditions and in consultation with your manager. There is a 6-month probation period. Start date by agreement.
