Do you want to work with people and provide support that truly makes a difference in everyday life? We are now looking for housing support workers specializing in young people, families, and individuals with substance abuse issues.

As a housing support worker, you provide individually tailored interventions in the client's own home. The goal is to strengthen independence, reduce isolation, and create structure in daily life. The work consists largely of motivational conversations and support, focusing on making the client an active participant in their own development.

You will be part of a work group with long experience and broad competence. The operations are organized into two teams working with different target groups. We are based in central Vetlanda and provide support to clients throughout the municipality. You work primarily independently, but in close collaboration with colleagues and other professionals, such as home healthcare, outpatient care, and authorities.

Your tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • providing support in creating routines for daily tasks such as cleaning, cooking, planning, and time management
  • motivating, guiding, and activating the client based on individual needs
  • accompanying clients to activities or appointments, such as healthcare contacts or meetings with authorities
  • being a listening ear and contributing to increased participation in society
  • working functionally preserving and rehabilitative, focusing on the client's own abilities

We are looking for someone who is secure and stable, and who meets people with respect, sensitivity, and patience. You build trust, motivate, and find solutions even when conditions change. The job requires a good ability to work independently, but also to collaborate and coordinate with various actors regarding the client. You thrive in a role where you switch between practical support, conversations, and planning.

We want you to feel good, both at and outside of work. Therefore, you have access to, among other things, a wellness allowance, free swimming, and discounts on massage. Read more about our benefits: https://vetlanda.se/formaner (https://vetlanda.se/formaner)

We believe in a workplace where differences are a strength and where we always meet each other with joy and respect. There is room for courage here – to dare to think differently, try new things, and develop. By collaborating and supporting each other, we create community and pride. Together we are Vetlanda Municipality.

Qualifications

  • We are looking for you who are trained as a nurse assistant (undersköterska), or who have other equivalent education – for example, support pedagogy, social pedagogy, treatment pedagogy, or child and youth work. Preferably with a focus on psychiatry.
  • Experience of social psychiatry and LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments)
  • Valid driver's license (Category B).
  • The position requires a certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record). The extract must be for residential care homes (HVB-hem) and can be ordered via the Police website.
  • We place great importance on personal qualities.

Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: Permanent, Start date: 2026-10-01 (October 1st, or as agreed). Selection and interviews are held on a rolling basis.
Working hours: Daytime, evening, and weekends.
