Höglandsförbundet is a municipal association formed by the municipalities of Aneby, Eksjö, Nässjö, Sävsjö, and Vetlanda. These five municipalities, located in the Småland highlands, value collaboration and know that we become stronger together. By combining our strengths and resources, we can increase competence, utilize resources more efficiently, raise quality, and provide better service to residents. Today, we host a number of different operations working for the best of the entire High Country region.

Within Höglandsförbundet, there is also the High Country Education Cooperation, which currently consists of Höglandsgymnasiet with schools in Eksjö, Nässjö, Sävsjö, and Vetlanda. In total, we have approximately 550 employees working to ensure that our approximately 3,000 students receive a high-quality education that prepares them for the future in working life or further studies. In the summer of 2026, the High Country Adult Education will also join, located in Sävsjö, Eksjö, and Nässjö.

Your new job

With us, you will be a teaching mathematics teacher at the upper secondary level. You are responsible for planning and conducting teaching according to the current curriculum and continuously evaluating your own teaching. You work together with engaged colleagues to drive and develop the program you belong to. You participate in the subject team to further develop subject-specific teaching.

The position includes a mentorship role, which involves close collaboration with student health services and the principal, to support students' development and goal achievement. Your work will be a vital part in helping students grow and succeed.

About you

We are looking for you who have completed a teacher education with eligibility to teach mathematics at the upper secondary level. If you also have eligibility to teach another natural science subject, it is an advantage. Previous experience in teaching, preferably in upper secondary school, is advantageous, as is experience in leading young people with the purpose of teaching them something.

As a person, you have good pedagogical insight and the ability to motivate and inspire learning. You take responsibility for your own work and work systematically to move forward in your own planning and teaching. You see the importance of building good relationships with students to motivate learning. You are a natural leader in the classroom and have a good ability to collaborate with others. As a person, you contribute to a positive and developing work climate together with your colleagues.

Aleholmsgymnasiet is part of Höglandsgymnasiet, a collaboration between upper secondary schools in Eksjö, Nässjö, Sävsjö, and Vetlanda, all belonging to Höglandsförbundet. Together, we work to create a strong and innovative educational environment that benefits our approximately 3,000 students, of which approximately 250 attend Aleholmsgymnasiet.

Good to know

The position is full-time with a start date at the beginning of the school year 2026/2027 or according to agreement. Interviews will be held during weeks 32 and 33.

To ensure that all new employees in our teaching positions have the correct eligibility, we ask you to attach a valid teacher license obtained from the Swedish National Agency for Education that is not older than two months.

As a final candidate in the recruitment process, it is a requirement, in accordance with the Education Act, that you present an extract from the criminal record for work within the school. You request this extract on the police website.

If you are called for an interview, you need to be able to prove your citizenship. You do this by showing a valid passport or a certificate of personal data together with a valid ID document. The certificate of personal data is ordered from the Swedish Tax Agency under "My Pages." If you are a citizen of a country outside the EU/EEA/Switzerland, you must also be able to present a valid residence and/or work permit to work in Sweden. Employment can only take place after the work permit has been checked, in accordance with the Aliens Ordinance.
