Job Responsibilities
As a School Psychologist, you are responsible for providing the administration and school units with psychological competence. We want you to contribute understanding and knowledge about how psychological factors, in collaboration with the environment, affect children's and students' opportunities to feel well, develop, and learn in school. In your work, you use various methods and tools to support the operations in achieving these goals.
As a School Psychologist, you will also, together with the school's other student health staff, contribute to developing and creating methods for health-promoting and preventive work. Part of the role involves being a member of the school social team, a collaboration team consisting of a school psychologist, a special education teacher, and a family therapist from Social Services. The team's focus is on attendance-promoting work in grades 1-6. Together with the existing school psychologist and other professions in the team, you will be part of developing the work forward.
The tasks include, among other things:
- Cross-professional collaboration within Child and Student Health, the schools' local student health teams, and with the Social Services Administration
- Supervision and consultation for principals and pedagogical staff
- Knowledge dissemination and training in various areas for principals, student health teams, and pedagogical staff
- Continuous operational development, including the psychology function and health-promoting school development
- Collaboration with external agencies
For our school psychologists, there is an opportunity for specialist education in educational psychology.
Qualifications and Merits
We are looking for you who:
- Are a licensed psychologist.
- Have good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing.

- Started or completed specialist education for psychologists in educational psychology
We are looking for someone who believes that school plays a crucial role in the future of children and students, who feels strongly about the importance of learning and education, and therefore sees school as an important arena to work in. To succeed in the role of School Psychologist, it is required that you are independent and skilled at planning, structuring, prioritizing, and driving your work forward. Since the role involves collaboration both within the Resource Centre and with staff at schools and other external actors, a key to success is having good collaboration skills. The Child and Student Health unit at the Resource Centre works and starts from the needs and conditions of the schools, so for us, it is important to be flexible in our approach. We also look for you to have a salutogenic perspective and to be driven by working with development issues, as well as having the ability to see the whole picture as a starting point for joint work.
