The County Clinic of Obstetrics and Gynecology conducts a broad range of activities within both gynecology and obstetrics across five hospitals in Norrbotten. Maternity and delivery care are concentrated at Gällivare and Sunderby hospitals.
We are looking for
We are looking for you who have a Swedish medical license or who have applied for licensure and are waiting for a decision from the National Board of Health and Welfare. Your knowledge of the Swedish language must be at least at C1 level. Previous experience working in the healthcare system Cosmic is desirable, as is previous work experience within obstetrics and gynecology.

What you will work with
The County Clinic of Obstetrics and Gynecology operates within both fields across five hospitals in Norrbotten. Sunderby Hospital is a modern regional hospital where we provide both maternity care and gynecological outpatient and inpatient care. In our catchment area, approximately 250,000 people live. Norrbotten is a large region with fantastic opportunities for outdoor life during four seasons, as well as a rich cultural life.
At the clinic, we work in process areas together with other professions within gynecological cancer, dysplasia, infertility, pelvic floor, endometriosis, abortion care, specialist mother care, normal delivery, etc. Approximately 30 doctors work at the clinic. We have a very good atmosphere among colleagues and good cooperation with other staff.
We provide outpatient and closed gynecological care as well as specialist clinics. Cancer care is conducted in close collaboration with the gynecological oncology clinic at Umeå University Hospital, where the majority of cancer surgery is performed. At Sunderby Hospital, benign surgery is primarily conducted. We also have a surgical robot in Sunderbyn. We also have a growing activity with outpatient surgeries.
Maternity care is located at Sunderby and Gällivare hospitals with approximately 1,600 and 450 deliveries per year, respectively. We deliver babies from week 28 at Sunderby Hospital. A neonatal department exists at both hospitals. We are a teaching clinic with regional medical education. Education and supervision of students and junior doctors is an important part of the work.
You will be employed within the county clinic with the possibility of main placement at Sunderby Hospital. Some work assignments may also take place within the county, for example in Piteå and Kalix.

Information about the position
We offer a fixed-term contract of 6 months initially, but it may convert to a permanent full-time position. Working hours are scheduled on weekdays between 07:30–16:00, including on-call duties. Start date is by agreement.
Selection and interviews are conducted continuously, and the position may be filled before the application deadline.
Region Norrbotten applies individual salary setting according to collective agreements.
