The position is located within the Administration for Operational Support and Service, one of eight administrations in Linköping Municipality. This administration brings together the municipality's internal services and service functions. We contribute to the development of the municipality's operations and create cross-municipal service solutions.

Do you want to brighten everyday life and improve the quality of life for the people of Linköping? Here, you can make a significant difference and contribute to making Linköping a better place. We welcome you!

Your Responsibilities

As a Junior IT Technician within the Digital Workplace, you will work in our logistics team, a key part of the municipality's IT delivery. We are responsible for ensuring that thousands of employees receive the correct IT equipment at the right time – a central part of creating a functional and secure digital working environment for the municipality's operations.

In this role, you will, among other things:

  • Handle orders, distribution, and return of user-facing IT equipment, both on-site with end-users and in our logistics workshop.
  • Work practically with receiving, registering, configuring, and shipping equipment.
  • Provide basic user support and assist users on-site.
  • Perform basic system administration in our management systems.
  • Contribute to order, structure, and flow in our logistics processes.
  • Work both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues in the team.

This is a learning role where you will receive support from experienced colleagues, follow clear ITIL processes, and have great opportunities to grow further within the IT field.

Your Workplace

We are the municipality's IT department and belong to the Administration for Operational Support and Service. Here, approximately 120 employees work to deliver stable, secure, and modern IT services to the municipality's operations – and ultimately to students, users, and residents.

Our User-Facing IT unit is a team of approximately 20 employees who together drive and develop the municipality's user-facing digital workplace. Our mission is to make the working day easier and smoother for all employees, and we are responsible for everything from computers and tablets to phones and accessories.

Our logistics team supports this work and is responsible for the lifecycle management of the municipality's IT equipment. This involves responsibility for ordering, registering, receiving, shipping, returning, and to some extent on-site support. This position has a particular focus on the lifecycle management of our user-facing devices.

For us, helpfulness and development are paramount. We are happy to share our knowledge, support each other in daily work, and improve our working methods together. Here, you will find a welcoming workplace with much joy in work and good opportunities for growth.

Who You Are

We are looking for someone who is at the beginning of their career and wants to work practically with IT and service.

We see that you have:

  • Knowledge and interest in IT, digital working methods, or mobile technology.
  • A high school education.
  • A B-class driver's license, as the work requires you to travel to our various operations.

As a person, you are:

  • Service-oriented, attentive, and treat others professionally.
  • Team-oriented and thrive in a team where people help each other.
  • Proactive and like to get things done.
  • Structured and enjoy it when there is order and multiple tasks are handled simultaneously.
  • Self-starting and take responsibility for structuring and driving the work forward.

Experience from service, retail, warehouse, logistics, or basic IT tasks is meritorious – but not a requirement. What is important to us is IT knowledge and interest, energy, and the willingness to learn – not how much experience you already have.
