Art Teacher for Ystad Municipality

The Education Department is responsible for preschool, compulsory school, after-school centers, upper secondary school, adult education, as well as child and student health services. Approximately 1,100 employees work here, creating a secure and developmental school and childcare environment together.

Job Responsibilities

The position involves teaching art according to the compulsory school curriculum to a group of approximately 10 students. The students are enrolled in the Introduction Programme or the Introduction Programme - Language Introduction. Your teaching will be varied, and you will work in the classroom with clear leadership to ensure students reach their full potential in acquiring knowledge. The role includes communicating goals and development with students, staff, and guardians, as well as documenting, following up, and evaluating your work.

At our school, we place the student's learning at the center and actively work to develop teaching within the framework of our systematic quality work. We have high expectations for both students and staff and believe in their ability to develop. The teaching is characterized by diversity, participation, and influence, as well as a critical approach, where formative assessment and digital work are important tools for learning. Staff learn together and engage in active collegial learning.

The position is 8% (part-time) and involves teaching once a week, Mondays from 14:30 to 16:00. The position is a fixed-term employment for the academic year 2026/2027.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are qualified to teach art in compulsory school. We place great emphasis on your personal ability to motivate and engage students through clear leadership to achieve good results. We also look for the following qualifications:

  • You are accustomed to working both independently and in collaboration with others.
  • You have an easy time building relationships and have a professional approach.
  • You strive to create a positive learning environment to drive the work with students forward together with the school's staff.
  • You have an easy time expressing yourself in speech and writing.

What We Offer

  • Salary: Monthly salary.
  • Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
  • Duration: 6 months or longer, start date: 2026-08-10.
  • Working hours: Daytime. Lesson Mondays 14:30 - 16:00.
