AFRY Food is a dedicated segment within AFRY with full focus on the food industry. We operate in several countries and work together in a project-oriented organization to help our customers meet new requirements and transition towards a more sustainable future. About the Role

As a Process Engineer at AFRY Food, you will design, build, and commission the next generation of food production. You will work closely with customers on projects ranging from concept and process design to installation and commissioning, with responsibility for documentation, sizing, and technical choices that affect the facility's performance.

In a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to creating resource-efficient production flows with a focus on energy, water, and reduced waste, as well as development within automation and digital working methods. The role is varied and combines office work with customer site visits, involving close collaboration both within the team and cross-disciplinarily within AFRY when needed. The location is Gothenburg.

In the role of Process Engineer, you often work on holistic assignments – either in-house or on behalf of the customer – where you contribute throughout the chain from design to verification, which includes:

• Process design – design of parts of or entire processes
• Preparation of technical documentation, requirements, and specifications (e.g., flows, specifications, procurement basis)
• Technical procurement and supplier dialogue
• Verification and commissioning support (FAT/SAT)

You will also have the opportunity to work with:

• Concept and feasibility studies
• Process optimization in existing facilities (capacity, quality, energy, and sustainability)

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have experience in process technology within the food industry and want to continue growing in the role – both technically and in customer dialogue. You thrive in projects, enjoy collaborating, and share your knowledge.

Requirements:

• University-level technical education or equivalent acquired through work experience
• At least 3-5 years of experience as a process engineer in the food sector
• Experience leading others within your field
• Experience independently designing process technical solutions, including selection and sizing of components, P&ID, and participation in technical procurement
• Digital/AI maturity – you use tools that simplify and streamline your work
• Very good knowledge of Swedish and good knowledge of English, both spoken and written
• The position requires physical presence at the customer site, and travel with overnight stays occurs as a natural part of the role.

Meritorious:

• Experience in project management
• Experience from the dairy industry
• Interest and experience in commissioning
