One of the Army Staff's focus areas is building the new army. An army that focuses on the army's operational capability and, in this regard, builds new as well as restructures existing units. Concurrently, the Army Staff leads units both nationally and internationally. The Army Staff develops and production-leads combat units within the army as well as subordinate organizational units consisting of units and schools.

About the Unit

The Army Staff is a standalone organizational unit within the Swedish Armed Forces, where the Technical and Maintenance Office Land (TVK Mark) is included as a department in the Ordnance Unit.

TVK Mark is responsible for materiel maintenance, materiel utilization, and materiel maintenance economics regarding the Swedish Armed Forces' land materiel, as well as ensuring that the materiel is maintained in accordance with system objectives.

The Position

The position of Systems Engineer is varied. The work is primarily within the framework of information logistics and system and materiel handovers, which involves planning, coordinating, and leading. The role entails close collaboration with materiel system specialists within TVK Mark, materiel area managers, Army units, the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV), and industry. As a Systems Engineer, there will be high demands for independent work and an understanding of information logistics and its impact on the army's capability and ultimately the technical systems' capability.

Main Responsibilities

The work consists mainly of tasks within technical service that are analytical and evaluative in nature, where development or adaptation often occurs. The tasks are complex but are primarily found within the following examples of responsibilities:

  • Suggest measures for systems to ensure cost-effective maintenance and availability.
  • Contribute to increased availability for all technical systems through logistics analysis and spare parts optimization.
  • Establish control over master data and ensure it is adapted for the system solution that provides the best possible support for the respective operations.
  • Plan and conduct analyses on land systems and review results, maintenance preparations, updates to maintenance systems, and production of technical documentation.
  • Monitor and review the operational reliability of technical systems within the framework of integrated logistics support.
  • Participate in the development and efficiency improvement of information flows and master data for better results and economics.

The organization is growing, which means that the development of working methods, models, and methods must take place together with both internal and external actors.

The work entails requirements to travel and work at inconvenient times. Expect at least 2 days of work at another location every other week.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's, university, or civil engineering degree or other equivalent education or work experience that the employer deems suitable.
  • Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish.
  • Good administrative skills.
  • Good knowledge of the Office package.
  • Class B driver's license.

Meritorious

  • Current and relevant experience of working within ILS (Information Logistics Support).
  • Experience leading projects.
  • Experience regarding materiel handovers between FMV and the Armed Forces.
  • Work in FMV Teamcenter and/or SAP/PRIO.
  • Experience from materiel supply/consumables supply as well as decommissioning within the Swedish Armed Forces or civil industry.
  • Experience or education regarding contracts and procurement within public operations.
  • Experience of flows regarding spare parts (SP), limited repairable spare parts (LRSP), and exchange units (EU) and their function in the Armed Forces.
  • Experience within basic and administrative data as well as master data within FMV and the Swedish Armed Forces or civil industry.
