Within the Hospital Care unit, we work closely with healthcare operations to ensure that digital IT support systems within hospital activities, such as Melior and Obstetrix, function safely, stably, and with high availability.

We are now looking for a Technical Specialist who wants to strengthen our team and contribute to functioning healthcare throughout the Västra Götaland Region.

Your Role

As a Technical Specialist within Hospital Care, you work closely with product owners, system administrators, suppliers, and other IT functions to ensure stable, secure, and well-functioning IT support that contributes to high availability. You are a technical expert who handles complex technical issues and questions – from analysis, design, and optimization to troubleshooting, incident management, and improvement work.

You collaborate with operations, administration, projects, and architecture to translate needs into sustainable technical solutions and contribute to standardized, documented, and long-term working methods. The role also involves driving or participating in technical investigations, installations, changes, and lifecycle work with a focus on quality, security, and user experience.

Examples of tasks:

• Third-line support and technical expert support for business-critical IT systems.
• Technical analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis during incidents, as well as action planning.
• Administration and further development of technical solutions, including lifecycle and change management, and installation of new releases.
• Continuous security work.
• Technical requirement specification and collaboration with operations, suppliers, and internal IT functions.
• Documentation, standardization, and automation (e.g., scripting) to improve quality and efficiency.

To succeed in the role, you need:

We are looking for you who have at least 5 years of experience in technical application operation and administration of business-critical IT systems, preferably in complex environments with high demands on availability and security. You are experienced in troubleshooting and root cause analysis, driving technical investigations, and translating needs into sustainable solutions in collaboration with other teams and suppliers. You express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and have a very good ability to document.

Your Competence (Requirements):

• Relevant university education in IT or equivalent experience.
• Microsoft Windows Server.
• Microsoft SQL Server.
• Microsoft IIS.
• Certificate management.
• Basic platform services (e.g., AD, DNS).

It is meritorious with knowledge in:

• Scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, shell scripting) and experience in automating and standardizing technical tasks.
• FileMaker.
• Linux.
• Experience and understanding of hospital systems, e.g., electronic health records.
• Experience of agile working methods and/or ITIL (incident, problem, and change management).
• Experience in technical requirement specification, supplier dialogue, and follow-up of deliveries.
