The IT Department at Chalmers is looking for an experienced Object Manager who wants to help shape the IT support for one of Sweden's leading technical universities. We are looking for you who have experience in some form of service delivery, have a strategic mindset, and are very accustomed to communicating with the business and understanding their needs. At Chalmers IT Department, you will have a central role in creating long-term, sustainable solutions that support research, education, and administration.
Information about the department
The IT Department at Chalmers is a comprehensive IT organization that manages Chalmers' shared systems and delivers support to the entire Chalmers Group. Employees regularly participate in exciting projects and develop and maintain solutions for both education and research. The IT Department currently consists of approximately 100 employees distributed across six units on the Johanneberg campus. Within the department, we work to build well-functioning teams that collaborate, utilize new technologies, and modern development platforms to efficiently create value for the business.
Job Description
As an IT Object Manager, you are responsible, together with a team of developers, for leading, coordinating, and further developing IT objects within the area of system development, within the framework of an adapted version of the management model PM3. You ensure that the objects support the business's needs, that deliveries occur according to agreed goals for availability, performance, and security, and that the systems are modern, stable, and cost-effective.
You have close collaboration with both the business and the developers in the teams. A central part of the role is to capture requirements from the business and translate them to the developers so that the right functionality is built and delivered. This position is within the Development & Maintenance unit, which consists of developers, project managers, and IT object managers. It is important to us to share knowledge and experiences within the unit.

Qualifications
We are looking for you who have:
- At least five years of documented experience in the role of object manager in a functional sense (i.e., with both system responsibility and customer responsibility)
- An academic education of at least three years in data, IT, or equivalent, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience working in large and complex organizations, such as in public administration or larger companies, where you have demonstrated the ability to navigate and deliver in environments with many stakeholders, processes, and dependencies.
It is an advantage if you have:
- Experience in leadership roles, such as project manager
- Experience working according to PM3 and/or PPS
- Experience with public procurement according to LOU
- Ability to use AI as a support for analysis and problem-solving
