Join the Cause – Become a Café Assistant at Red Cross Södermalm
The Swedish Red Cross was founded in 1865 and is today Sweden's largest humanitarian voluntary organization. The most important Red Cross work is carried out by over 25,000 volunteers in approximately 300 Red Cross branches spread across the country. We strive to save lives and give hope all over the world and in Sweden, every day. The Red Cross's fundamental principles are humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntarism, unity, and universality.
Do you burn with a passion for sustainable humanity? Do you want to work in a business where every cup of coffee contributes to something bigger? Become our new café assistant!
Red Cross on Södermalm runs a second-hand shop and a café where the surplus goes to humanitarian work – locally, nationally, and internationally. The operation is based on close cooperation between employees, volunteers, and work trainees, where we together create an inclusive and meaningful meeting place. Everything we do is permeated by our values of sustainability and humanity.
About the Role
In the café, you work together with a supervisor as well as volunteers and work trainees. You are the supervisor's right hand and help with whatever is needed in all parts of the café operations. You work the register, prepare sandwiches and light lunches, bake, wash dishes, clean, etc. In addition to the daily tasks, you help develop the café forward with new ideas. Our café is diversity in practice; you will work with different volunteers and work trainees every day – which means you need a high degree of flexibility, social competence, and good communication skills.
Commitment and good service naturally permeate everything!
