Job Description

The control and readiness organization within Probation is a relatively new part of the operations, focusing on control, security, and surveillance. As a Probation Officer (Kriminalvårdare), you will be responsible for handling controls for clients under electronic monitoring, as well as attendance checks for clients sentenced to community service. The role also includes security checks for safe entry into our office, staffing the reception, and other security-related tasks.

You will work in a team with other Probation Officers and collaborate closely with probation inspectors, decision support staff, program leaders, and administrators. Therefore, it is important that you thrive in a flexible and dynamic environment. Your duties will be carried out both at the Probation offices and in the field. As a Probation Officer, you will work on a shift basis, including day, evening, and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

Your personal qualities are important. To succeed in the role of a Probation Officer, you need to be confident, stable, have good self-awareness, sound judgment, and integrity. You drive the operations together with your colleagues, which requires good teamwork skills and clear communication abilities. You must be able to plan and prioritize your work and drive your processes forward independently. In changing circumstances, you must be able to adapt and maintain your calm and professionalism in demanding situations.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Complete upper secondary education or other education combined with work experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written
• Good computer skills
• Valid B-class driver's license

The following are also meritorious:

• Relevant work experience in areas such as probation, security work, social care, psychiatry, or healthcare and social care
• Completed probation officer training
• Experience with security checks/access control
• Other relevant language skills
