The Rescue Services continue their development for the future and have recently taken the final step to have all firefighters and officers employed in a combined service (combining operational duties with daytime administrative tasks). We now need to hire additional firefighters to create a surplus and account for upcoming retirements. Therefore, we are now looking for you who want to help develop the Landskrona Rescue Services. The new recruitment will be part of the development of our operational capacity, both in peacetime and during heightened readiness, where we focus on competence development for our officers and firefighters, as well as new vehicles with the latest technology.

In addition to the traditional rescue service mission, civil defense, crisis preparedness, safety, and security are included in the department "Civil Protection and Safety," which in turn belongs to the "City Management Administration." The administration lies directly under the municipal executive board.

The Rescue Services constitute the largest part of the department and will have 57 full-time employees after the recruitment. Of these, 52 people are included in the rescue service operations (the operational rescue team), consisting of 6 firefighters, a team leader, and an incident commander (who also serves as an incident commander in Svalöv). All officers and firefighters work in a combined service where, in addition to their operational duties, they have daytime tasks involving, for example, internal training, external training, supervision, incident planning, vehicles, equipment, and civil defense. Working in a combined service with us means working on a rolling 6-week schedule containing 11 daytime shifts and 7 24-hour shifts evenly distributed over the weeks. During 12 summer weeks, we work on a traditional rolling 4-week schedule with only operational duties.

Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for you who want to work as a firefighter in Landskrona City and contribute to a safer society, both in operational work and in prevention.

As a firefighter, you are part of the operational rescue team where you participate in emergency responses and in the work of developing both your own and the organization's competence. The work is varied and requires cooperation, responsibility, and good physical fitness.

In addition to operational work, the job also includes tasks within the area of accident prevention. This may involve, for example:

• Conducting training and information campaigns
• Meeting and guiding citizens in various contexts
• Contributing to preventive safety work

Qualifications

We are looking for you who:

Furthermore, you need:

• To be trained and approved at MCF (Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency) and meet the physical and medical requirements for the firefighter position (diploma attached to the application)
• A passing roller band test, no older than 3 months
• Certificate of swimming proficiency according to the Swedish Life Saving Society's Gold Badge
• A driver's license with at least category BC
• Normal color vision

• Working hours: Schedule. Rolling 6-week schedule containing 11 daytime shifts and 7 24-hour shifts. During 12 summer weeks, a rolling 4-week schedule with 24-hour shifts.

We will hold a test day on September 7. We will invite candidates we find interesting to look into more closely to the test day. A extract from the criminal record register (unopened) must be brought to this test day. After the tests, a holistic assessment is made, after which we decide who will be invited for an interview. Interviews are scheduled for September 14.
