Helenaskolan is located in central Skövde, near the travel center with good transport connections. We are a comprehensive school for grades 7-9 with approximately 500 students and currently over 60 staff members working at the school. The school has an implemented operational and development organization that, together with school leadership, educators, student health services, resource teams, and administration, meets the challenges we face in operational and strategic work. Our 6 lead teachers lead the work on our prioritized development areas: language and knowledge-enhancing approaches, mathematics, as well as study environment and attendance. Helenaskolan has a student health team consisting of a counselor, school nurse, study and career counselor, special needs educator and special teacher, psychologist, speech therapist, and school leadership.

Job Responsibilities

Teacher in Home Economics and Consumer Studies. The position includes mentorship. We place great emphasis on collaboration, and you will belong to a work team focused on the students' subject-specific and personal development. Additionally, you will support students throughout their school day with a focus on high attendance and eligibility for upper secondary school.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher in Home Economics and Consumer Studies. We consider it an advantage if you have worked in the school sector for a couple of years. You should have good computer skills, be open to new working methods, and be able to work both individually adapted and collegially. As a pedagogue, you have good structure in your work and systematically evaluate your teaching. You are also expected to create motivation and curiosity among students through a positive and trusting view of people. You have high expectations for results and development at both group and individual levels and support each student in their development. You are responsible, have good collaboration skills, and create conditions for participation for students, staff, and guardians.

Employment Type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer, Start Date: 2026-09-01.

To begin working in preschool, school, after-school centers, and other pedagogical activities, you are required to show an extract from the criminal record. The extract is valid for one year and can be ordered from the Swedish Police Authority www.polisen.se (https://www.polisen.se).
