Do you want to contribute to top-quality medical research?

The Pediatric Tumor Bank (BTB) is a research infrastructure, a national sample collection, and a research project within the pediatric cancer field, which also performs large-scale molecular and genomic analyses on collected samples. The overarching goal of BTB is to contribute to high-quality research on tumor diseases in children, which includes making samples, associated collected data, and generated molecular/genomic data available to authorized researchers after a formal application process. BTB also assists and collaborates with clinical studies and various research projects, and coordinates the Genomic Medicine Sweden (GMS) initiative for pediatric cancer, which has involved implementing clinical whole-genome sequencing in pediatric cancer care. BTB's operations cover all solid tumor diagnoses in children, and the core activities take place at Karolinska Institutet. We are now looking for a motivated project coordinator to contribute to the continued development of the Pediatric Tumor Bank, our collaborations, and projects.

Your role

As a project coordinator, you will be responsible for administration, documentation, and participating in the processing of research inquiries received by the Pediatric Tumor Bank. You will also contribute to developing case handling procedures, including follow-up work. You will play a key role in producing background materials, guidelines, and reports regarding various parts of the operations and participate in organizational planning. You will be involved in medico-legal issues and processes to make biobank material and associated personal data and analysis data available for research, as well as handling research data generated within the GMS initiative. Monitoring the external environment in relevant fields is also expected.

Your role involves collaborating and communicating internally and externally with researchers, clinical staff, and other actors that BTB interacts with, such as the Stockholm Medical Biobank (responsible biobank for BTB's sample collection) and Karolinska University Hospital (data controller organization). You will also be responsible for keeping the website updated.

Who are you?

You have a relevant university degree, preferably a PhD, and extensive experience in processing work, project management, and administrative tasks. You express yourself very well orally and in writing in both Swedish and English and have good computer skills. Professional experience with biobank issues, clinical trials, cancer research, and genomic data is an advantage. The job requires excellent ability to collaborate and work with several actors, both internal and external. We place great emphasis on personal suitability; you should be organized, meticulous, service-oriented, have good initiative, and be able to work independently.
