Cardiology in Malmö is a large and important part of cardiology at Skåne University Hospital (SUS). The department consists of a large ward with 30 beds divided into three flows; coronary, arrhythmia, as well as heart failure and valve. Within the section, there are extensive outpatient clinics, laboratories for echocardiography and coronary angiography/PCI, as well as pacemaker operations.

Cardiology staffs its own three duty lines. Primary duty, backup duty, and ECHO duty. The medical staffing consists of approximately 24 specialist-competent cardiologists, plus 12 ST-doctors (specialist trainees) and substitute resident doctors.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for a specialist physician for service within the section for heart disease care in Malmö with a focus on the coronary flow. You are expected to independently round on patients on the ward, manage thorax conferences, outpatient activities, consultative services, and work towards intensive and emergency care.

Here you have the opportunity to work in a modern work environment with good opportunities for research and further education, as well as participation in the development of the activity. We train both AT- and ST-doctors, and you act as a supervisor/teacher in the clinical education of students.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who apply are a licensed physician with permission to work within Swedish healthcare. Furthermore, you have specialist competence in cardiology. Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe scale are a requirement. You should have completed or planned a course in clinical supervision.

At a university healthcare unit, it is required that physicians have pedagogical experience and education. This you may have acquired through supervising, for example, nursing and medical students as well as doctors in training and as co- or main supervisor for doctoral students. Clearly describe in your application completed or planned pedagogical courses, experience of supervision and teaching at different levels.

To succeed in the role, we see that you have good communication skills and can convey knowledge and messages in a clear and pedagogical way.
