Department 43 and 44 for Children and Adolescents cares for children and adolescents from newborns up to 20 years of age. We receive patients from all specialties at Kristianstad Central Hospital. Within the unit, we are approximately 50 employees, and we work in teams to ensure high patient safety and a good working environment. We strive to have specialist-trained staff who are educated regarding the needs of both healthy and sick children. Within the Child and Adolescent Healthcare area, we offer day care, appointment-based clinics, a neonatal unit, and an emergency clinic.

We have recently started intermediate care beds where we treat patients who require a higher level of care, continuous monitoring, and advanced medical treatments.

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for the future here at the children's ward. Working with us means engaging and developmental work within emergency healthcare, where the meeting with the child and family is in focus.

As a nurse on our ward, you will perform many of the usual tasks found on an emergency department. Additionally, you will work closely with children and relatives in so-called person-centered care.

It is important to us that you get a secure start to your employment here, and we have a well-developed introduction program. When you start with us, you will usually have a buddy for your first five weeks, often with two different mentors. We also have a team leader available for guidance when you begin working independently.

On our ward, we work with an educational concept called KÄK (Knowledge is Fun). We believe that you learn more and retain knowledge better if theoretical education is given in connection with practical work regarding, for example, a diagnosis or method. The concept is part of our goal-oriented work regarding competence development and helps us to utilize the competence that already exists on the ward.

Qualifications

You who are applying are a licensed nurse with eligibility to practice in Swedish healthcare. Proficiency in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale is a requirement. If you have specialist training in child and adolescent healthcare, it is highly meritorious for the position. Furthermore, it is an advantage if you have experience from emergency care/inpatient care and/or child healthcare.
