Description

The VINR/HRV unit (Violence in Intimate Relationships and Honor-Related Violence and Oppression) works with adults in Hisingen who are exposed to threats and violence in intimate relationships and/or honor-related violence and oppression. We also work with individuals who subject their close ones to threats and violence.

The assignment also includes cases concerning, for example, prostitution and human trafficking, although this constitutes a smaller part of the tasks.

At present, the VINR/HRV unit consists of eight social secretaries with authority to act on behalf of the state, as well as a Senior Social Secretary who leads the daily work. The employees have extensive experience and a strong commitment to the target group and the assignment.

The goal of the work at the VINR/HRV unit is for the violence to cease.

Job Description

Your primary task as a Social Secretary in the VINR/HRV unit is to receive applications for social assistance, investigate and assess the need for protection and support, as well as the right to assistance. You make decisions regarding and implement appropriate measures. Equally important is actively following up that ongoing measures lead towards the goals formulated together with the individual. In your work, you apply the Administrative Procedure Act, the Social Services Act, and confidentiality legislation, as well as other regulations and provisions governing the operations.

One of the most important and effective interventions from you as a Social Secretary is to empower the individual to take their own initiatives for necessary changes. The work involves a high degree of collaboration, both internally and externally, especially with the Domestic Violence Unit, which is responsible for cases concerning children who have witnessed violence between close ones in various ways.

The unit is located at Glasiären.

Qualifications

A degree in Social Work or another equivalent university degree is required.

To handle the assignment, you need to have good knowledge of how current legislation should be applied, as well as an understanding of the importance of legally secure case processing. You have a trustworthy approach, as well as strategies and methods for investigative, motivational, and supportive conversations.

To achieve the goal of ending violence, collaboration with both internal and external actors is crucial. It is important that you have a holistic view of the individual's situation, the ability to cooperate with others, and are comfortable with others having insight into your work.

Working with victims of violence is an area where strong forces can be at play. Therefore, it is important that you as a person have personal maturity. As support in handling this, you are offered group process guidance, method guidance from the Senior Social Secretary, and perhaps most importantly, collegial support from the work group.

Experience of exercising authority within social services is a requirement, and if you have previously worked with violence in intimate relationships and honor-related violence, it is particularly meritorious. Experience with documentation in the operational system Treserva is also desirable. Competence in using FREDA and PATRIARK is meritorious, as is specific training related to the unit's target group.

Selection takes place continuously, and interviews are planned for weeks 28 and 29 (6-17/7).
