Description

We are now looking for a Social Worker (Socialsekreterare) for Unit 2 for Economic Assistance, located at Höstvädersgatan 1. The unit consists of 14 social workers, one social administrator, two senior social workers, and a unit manager.

The Economic Assistance units in Hisingen have approximately 120 employees, divided into five different units: the Intake Unit which receives new cases, and four units that handle ongoing cases. Within the units, two professional categories work: social workers and social assistants.

As a social worker, you will, in close collaboration with internal and external partners, be responsible for following up on individual plans established together with the client. The work requires extensive contact with our users, other authorities, and other units within the administration. In your daily work, you will receive support from a senior social worker.

Our workplace has a diversity of employees; some have long experience in the profession while others with shorter experience contribute new perspectives and knowledge. We have staff of all ages.

Job Responsibilities

In your role as a social worker, we see that you are structured and have the ability to overview and prioritize your tasks. You are willing to take personal responsibility for your tasks and independently drive your own processes.

Since the work involves close collaboration with both internal and external partners, you have good collaboration skills and a professional attitude. You are positive, open, and accessible while also being able to convey structure and goal orientation in client work. Since you meet people in vulnerable situations in your work, you must have good interpersonal skills in your professional role.

Qualifications

For this position, it is required that you have a degree in Social Work and experience as a social worker within economic assistance. You are well-versed in the legislation in this area. You understand the importance of legally secure case handling and what this means in practice. To manage the assignment, it is important that you can both exercise authority but also support and motivate individuals.

Your work involves communication and documentation, therefore you need to have a good ability to formulate yourself both verbally and in writing, as well as good computer skills. If you have previous knowledge of Treserva, we see this as an advantage.

Social Services Hisingen is part of the social services in Gothenburg City. We are one of four social service administrations. We work purposefully to create a better everyday life for the residents of Hisingen.

We offer support within individual and family care, social emergency services, help with addiction, and in integration issues. We also work with leisure activities and preventive work regarding, for example, public health work, urban planning, local security work, and integration issues.
