About the operations

Lextorpsskolan is a municipal F-6 school located in the southern parts of Trollhättan with 215 students and 34 employees. At the school, we have the advantage of having students from many different cultures, which enriches our operations, but also highlights our common values-based work. The school is two-parallel in most grades, and the average number of students is about 15 per class. Directly adjacent to the school is an artificial turf field and a green area that invites to various outdoor activities.

During the school year 2025/26, the school's prioritized goal areas have been a common values-based work focusing on the shared attitude of students and staff, the city's mathematics initiative, language-developing working methods in all subjects, and collaboration efforts between the school and external actors such as social services to ensure a good school environment. Our goal is to create a school together where students experience school as relevant and meaningful, and we believe that good knowledge development is based on clear goals and good lesson structure. We want to create this through positive expectations, forums for meeting, and a work environment that makes us enjoy being together.

Job Responsibilities

The position is during the autumn term 2026, with the possibility of extension. Support individual students/students in their daily school attendance and help the student overcome challenges both in and outside the classroom. Work with individual students/student groups in the younger age groups at the school, especially in preschool class. Collaborate with other student support assistants, teachers, special needs teachers, counselors, and other members of the student health team to plan and implement individual support measures.

In the role of student support assistant at the school, it may also become relevant for you and your student to have full-time or part-time placement in our established special education group. There you work in a team with other educators/student support assistants, and in this way, it becomes relevant to get the opportunity to support more students. As a student support assistant, you take great responsibility for the student's development on several levels. It is about supporting learning, and promoting the student's social development, communication, and independence in everyday life.

• Organize and lead social and pedagogical activities that promote community and learning.
• Be an attentive conversation partner for students and offer emotional support when needed.
• Participate in planning meetings and contribute insights into students' needs and progress.
• A part of the position will be at the after-school center.

Qualifications we are looking for in you:

For this position, the following are required:

• Education as a student assistant, support pedagogue, or other education that the employer deems equivalent.
• Knowledge of different functional variations and how they affect learning for an individual student, as well as what it may imply in relation to the surroundings and environment.
• Knowledge of low-affective handling and clarifying pedagogy in both theory and practice.
• Task awareness where the goal is always that every student should reach as far as possible in their learning.
• That you are flexible and creative in finding solutions that meet the students' individual needs.
• That you are responsible and work well in a team but also independently.
• That you can provide good references from previous work with children/students that show you can put your knowledge into practice.
• Good ability to create trusting relationships and communicate with students, parents, and colleagues. Be a good role model as an adult at the school.

Advantageous is experience working with younger students in need of support in various ways, but also positive if you have worked in a special education group where several students with support needs work as a group. We place great importance on personal suitability. We are looking for you who have the ability to see students' different needs, take into account their individual prerequisites, and enjoy challenges.
