We are looking for a Cybersecurity Analyst for the unit responsible for societal vital communication services. Here you will have the opportunity to contribute to protecting and strengthening systems that are crucial for Sweden's societal actors. Your contribution will be key to ensuring robust and secure communication throughout society.
Your responsibilities and tasks
As a Cybersecurity Analyst, you will contribute to establishing and further developing our CSOC function (Cyber Security Operations Center). You will be part of an engaged team working together to develop and strengthen the security capabilities of our services. The role offers a technical environment where you can develop professionally and work with critical security issues in a societally vital operation. The role also includes environmental scanning and monitoring technological developments, allowing us to continuously adapt and improve our security solutions.
Your tasks include:
- Monitoring and analysis of security threats: You monitor networks and systems in real-time to identify and handle security threats.
- Designing security solutions: You develop and implement strategies to protect data and systems from intrusion and other cyber threats.
- Incident management: You handle security incidents and work on restoring systems after attacks.
Your knowledge and competencies
We are looking for someone who:
- is at the beginning of their career and has recently completed a relevant post-secondary education.
- has knowledge of log analysis, network traffic analysis, and security monitoring.
- has knowledge of handling IT security incidents.
- has good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English.
It is meritorious if you have:
- experience from working within a CSOC/SOC or other monitoring function within IT security.
- knowledge of standards in information and IT security, such as ISO 27000, CIS Controls, NIST.
- experience working with security solutions such as firewalls, encryption, and authentication.
- certification in information security, such as CISSP or equivalent.

To fit the role, it is crucial that you work carefully and with great awareness of security requirements and quality standards. You have an analytical ability that allows you to identify, break down, and solve complex security challenges in a structured way. Since the threat landscape is constantly changing, you are also flexible and quickly adapt your working methods based on new risks and security goals.
About the employment
We offer you a permanent full-time position starting with a probationary period.
Your place of work will be Stockholm, and travel within the employment will occur.
The working hours are scheduled for shift work, which includes evenings, nights, and weekends. Initially, the working hours will be during the day.
Most of our positions involve placement in a security classification. Swedish citizenship is usually required. In the case of placement in a security classification, a security investigation with register check will be conducted prior to employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Most employees at the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency are war-placed.
About us
The Continuity and Security Section is responsible for security protection, signal security, physical security, information security, IT security, and continuity within societal vital communication services. This includes educating, guiding, and supporting the operation in security and continuity-related matters, as well as ensuring regulatory compliance in the security area. The function includes a Security Operations Center (SOC).
On the section, we are currently 9 employees located in both Karlstad and Stockholm.
We have activity-based offices where you can choose your workplace based on your own needs. We also offer you the opportunity to take out fitness hours and you will receive a fitness allowance. For you as a state employee, there are also favorable vacation conditions.
