Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone who lives here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and different with us – for the people of Stockholm.
Welcome to us
Solhemsskolan is located in Spånga, about a five-minute walk from Spånga Centrum. You can easily reach us by commuter train from, among other places, T-Centralen. Spånga C has many bus lines to our local area.
Solhemsskolan is a four-parallel primary school (grades F-6) with approximately 745 students and 100 employees. Solhemsskolan consists of two school units, Solhemsskolan and Solhemsängens skola. The school management consists of the principal, three assistant principals, and an administrative manager.
We offer
Solhemsskolan strives to be at the forefront of school development! The school has good results in both student achievement and satisfaction among students, guardians, and staff. At our school, we all take individual responsibility for a common goal: to increase learning in all parts of the operation.
Your role
We are looking for you who, during the period 2026-08-10 to 2027-01-23, want to work as the coordinator for the after-school program (fritidshemsansvarig) in our well-functioning second grade at Solhemsskolan. The grade consists of two classes with two teachers, two class advisors, and one after-school program coordinator.
In your role as the after-school program coordinator, you are responsible for working together with your colleagues to ensure that the students' entire school day is characterized by learning, safety, and positive social interaction. You have a leadership role at the after-school program where you take the primary responsibility for planning and evaluating activities during breaks and after-school hours. With the resources provided in the form of time and staff, you coordinate the operations so that they run smoothly, even when the situation requires flexibility.
In both the after-school group and the extended collegium that includes the teachers, it is important that you put the team first. In your leadership role at the after-school program, you are expected to be a bridge between school and after-school activities and to be an essential part of ensuring these parts work together. You do this with keywords such as clarity, structure, communication, and engagement.
Your coordinating role requires good collaboration skills, even with other work teams at the school. Together, you have the best interests of the entire school in mind and collaborate with the nearest manager as needed.
During a typical week at Solhemsskolan, you, as the after-school program coordinator, have a number of time resources available to plan, implement, and evaluate the after-school activities in a good way. These include work team time (including teachers), planning time with the after-school staff, own planning time, time with other after-school coordinators, and on a rolling basis, time for development work, APT (staff meetings), planning for holidays, etc.
As an employee with us, we expect you to act in a professional manner that reflects your professional knowledge and role. You clearly distinguish between the personal and the professional and relate to situations in a way that is adapted to each situation. Your security, stability, and self-awareness enable you to take initiative and make things happen. You translate planning into activity with precision, which leads to desired results.
Your competence and experience
- Completed upper secondary education.
- Started education as an after-school pedagogue, teacher for after-school programs, or equivalent is a requirement.
- Experience in leading colleagues in after-school programs or other professions is meritorious.
- Good language skills in Swedish are a requirement. If you do not have the ability to communicate clearly with colleagues, students, guardians, and other staff in spoken and written Swedish, this position is not for you.
Stockholm City works with competence-based recruitment aimed at considering each person's competence and thereby combating discrimination.
To work at our schools, you must present a valid extract from the police's criminal record and suspicion register before an offer of employment.
Within the Department of Education, we apply individual salary setting regulated by HÖK and General Provisions (AB).
