About us

Welcome to Grimstaskolan in Upplands Väsby, a vibrant and inspiring learning environment where we together create the stars of the future! Here, we care about every student and strive to give them the tools they need to succeed both in school and in life. We believe in the power of education and personal meetings, which is why we are now looking for an engaged and passionate study and career counselor who wants to become part of our fantastic team.

Approximately 470 students attend Grimstaskolan in grades 6–9. The school consists of 17 classes, including our adapted primary school with approximately 20 students. Each grade is led by a team leader who works in close collaboration with the school management. The adapted primary school also has its own team. Right next to Grimstaskolan is Nordanskolan, which is one of the municipality's resource schools. There, 26 students attend, and the position will also involve guiding these students. We are located in East Upplands Väsby, surrounded by beautiful nature and close to a rich selection of leisure activities and associations.

About the position

As a study and career counselor, you will play a central role in the students' lives, supporting them in their choice of education and future professions. You will have the opportunity to inspire, motivate, and guide our students, helping them discover their strengths and interests. Together, we create a safe and developmental environment where curiosity and creativity are in focus.

• The position is a permanent employment at 70% starting September 2026.

Your work will include:

• Conducting individual counseling sessions with students to identify their goals and interests.
• Developing and leading group activities and workshops on study techniques, the labor market, and future planning.
• Collaborating with external parties to facilitate internships and study visits.
• Keeping up to date with the education system and the labor market to provide relevant and current support to students.
• This autumn, Grimstaskolan will become a SAO school. This means our 8th graders will work 2 hours/week. Our SYV (Study and Career Counselor) will have an important role here.
• The SYV at Grimstaskolan is part of the school's EHT team.
