Department of Computer and System Sciences

Subject/Description
System simulation is a central part of computer and system sciences and is used for analysis, exploration, understanding, and prediction. Agent-based simulation of social interactions and systems is a simulation methodology that has gained increasing importance as a decision support tool for policy issues concerning human behavior.
Responsibilities
The main tasks include teaching, course development, course responsibility, supervision, and research within agent-based social simulation for modeling and analyzing human decision-making and behavior.
The incumbent is expected to strengthen the theoretical foundations and practical relevance of the courses in this area.
The incumbent is also expected to be active in the department's internal work.
The appointment includes competence and research time according to the current collective agreement.
Qualifications
Eligible for appointment as a University Lecturer is someone who has completed a doctoral degree in computer and system sciences or has equivalent scientific competence and has demonstrated pedagogical skill.
The applicant must have both the ability to collaborate and the other abilities and suitability required to perform the duties of the position well.
To be able to perform the duties of the appointment, the applicant must have documented ability to use English in speech and writing at a professional level. This is demonstrated, for example, through documented experience of teaching in English or a certificate of language skills corresponding to at least B2 level (CEFR).
Assessment Criteria
Special and equal weight is attached to pedagogical and scientific skill within the field. Pedagogical skill is normally demonstrated through teaching and supervision at both undergraduate and advanced levels. The skill must be well documented in a way that makes it possible to assess the quality of the pedagogical activity.
Great weight is attached to having successfully planned, applied for, and obtained grants for research projects from external funders.
Great weight is also attached to documented ability to collaborate with colleagues and coworkers.
Weight is attached to administrative skill as well as the ability to collaborate with the surrounding society and to inform about research and development work.
Meritorious is higher education pedagogical education of at least 15 higher education credits or equivalent knowledge acquired in other ways.
Other Information
Applicants who lack higher education pedagogical education of at least 15 higher education credits and who are not also assessed as having acquired equivalent knowledge in other ways must undergo such education during the first two years of employment.
Swedish language proficiency is not a requirement for the appointment, but the applicant must be prepared to take on administrative and pedagogical tasks requiring understanding and use of Swedish within two years.
