Fjällenskolan – a solid foundation for the future

We are a preschool to year 9 school located in the heart of Viksjö, surrounded by a pleasant residential area. Approximately 650 students attend our school, and we work in teams that collaborate closely to promote each student's social and academic development.

In addition to our regular classes, we also have three resource school classes from preschool class to year 9. Together, we create a safe, inclusive, and developmental learning environment for all our students.

Job Responsibilities

Are you passionate about making a real difference where it is needed most? We are now looking for an engaged and relationship-building teacher in Swedish and Social Studies (SO) for our special education group.

In our small education group, you will meet students who need a more adapted, predictable, and calm school environment to reach their goals. The group consists of students in years 7–9 with varying needs, including those with neuropsychiatric disabilities (NPD). Together with an engaged team of teachers and resource pedagogues, you will create a safe learning environment based on structure, flexibility, and high expectations.

• Plan, implement, and assess teaching in Swedish and Social Studies.
• Adapt materials and teaching methods based on each student's unique prerequisites and action plans.
• Actively work on building strong, trusting relationships with the students and their guardians.
• Collaborate closely with resource pedagogues and the school's student health team.

Qualifications

• Licensed teacher with eligibility to teach Swedish and one or more Social Studies subjects for years 7–9.
• Experience with or a strong interest in special education and working with students in need of special support.
• Good knowledge of NPD and comfort working with a low-affective approach.
• Confident in leadership, flexible in the moment, and with a strong belief in each student's ability.
