Kristianstad University is a modern university college with a strong profile in health sciences. Our research is practice-oriented, socially relevant, and integrated with teaching – always with a focus on meeting current societal challenges.

You will become part of the Faculty of Health Sciences. We offer doctoral studies in nursing science with a focus on person-centeredness for health and well-being. The nursing programs are a central part of our operations. This includes the HELP course, which runs throughout the program with a focus on supervision, ethics, leadership, and profession. We also offer Hälsopunkten (The Health Point) – a student-led clinic focusing on health and lifestyle habits – as well as a clinical training center with simulation activities.

At the advanced level, we offer specialist nurse programs specializing in district nursing and elderly care. In the spring of 2027, we will expand our educational offerings with a specialist nurse program in psychiatric care. Through our doctoral program in nursing science, there are also good opportunities for academic credentialing and continued development within research and education.

Job Description

As a University Lecturer in Nursing, your duties may include teaching and examination in courses related to the nursing program, specialist nurse programs, the Master's program in Health Sciences, and the doctoral program. Teaching includes various forms such as large campus lectures, seminars, workshops, and clinical skill exercises in the form of scenario training. Online teaching, supervision, examination of degree projects, and examiner duties in courses are also included in the position. Other duties within the scope of the position include course development and administrative work as course coordinator and examiner. Independent research, supervision of doctoral students, various leadership roles may also be included in the position, as well as other relevant tasks.

You are expected to conduct independent research and, on your own or together with others, actively apply for external and internal research funding. The position includes collaboration work, both internally and with the surrounding society. Qualifications and Desirable Skills

We are looking for you who are a registered nurse with a PhD in Nursing or equivalent. For employment as a University Lecturer, basic eligibility requirements are required in accordance with Chapter 4, Sections 3-4 of the Higher Education Ordinance and Kristianstad University's Employment Regulations. You have demonstrated pedagogical skills and have taught at a university/college in nursing or related fields. Additionally, you have conducted research in nursing. Naturally, you are computer literate and can handle the Office package. You communicate well both orally and in writing in Swedish and English. Teaching is conducted and examined in Swedish, so you need to have very good knowledge of Swedish.

Meritorious qualifications include:

• Specialist Nurse degree, especially with a focus on district nursing, elderly care, or psychiatric care
• ongoing research in one of the above areas
• experience in teaching in online-based education
• work with digital learning platforms
• It is expected that you have a university pedagogy education equivalent to 15 credits. If not, this can be completed within the first two years of employment.

Other Information

The position is a permanent full-time employment with a start date as agreed. We usually apply a probationary period. The location is in Kristianstad on our beautiful campus with good parking facilities as well as train and bus connections. Some teaching may be scheduled in the evenings or on weekends and also in locations other than Kristianstad. Here, there is an opportunity to apply for promotion to Associate Professor.
