Liljeforsskolan is a preschool class to grade 5 school located in the Gränby area. Approximately 320 students attend the school, and about 50 staff members work there. The school is one of Uppsala Municipality's schools selected for special support measures. This means the school can have smaller class sizes and a higher staff ratio than many other schools. The school is located in the middle of the residential area but is surrounded by beautiful parks, enabling creative and educational outdoor activities.

Description of duties

As a teacher in this position, you will teach the school's theoretical subjects. We would prefer that you are qualified to teach Swedish as a Second Language (SVA). You will have the opportunity to make a difference for our students by contributing your competence, knowledge, and commitment, together with engaged and competent colleagues. Together, you will work to ensure that all students reach their goals. You will plan, implement, evaluate, and develop the pedagogical work according to the curriculum and other governing documents. The position includes being a mentor for a number of students in the grade.

In your work at our school, you will learn together with your colleagues and contribute to developing the operations. Together, you will work to ensure that all students develop and feel well! This position is a fixed-term employment during the autumn term of 2026.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a Swedish teaching license or are awaiting a license for the relevant grades and subjects. You have good knowledge of the school's governing documents and the primary school curriculum. Good oral and written skills in Swedish are a prerequisite for the position.

It is meritorious if you have experience working with language-developing methods. Good IT skills with a focus on pedagogical work are also desirable. Previous experience working in a preschool class to grade 5 school is meritorious, as is qualification in the subject Swedish as a Second Language (SVA).

In your role, you take initiative and start activities that yield good results. You collaborate well with others and relate to your surroundings in a listening and smooth manner. You listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts constructively. With good pedagogical insight, you understand that students have different prerequisites for absorbing knowledge. In your teaching, you adapt your message to the audience.

In change, you adapt easily to altered circumstances. You can quickly change your perspective and approach. You are calm, stable, and controlled in stressful situations. You maintain a realistic perspective on different situations and focus on the right things.

Uppsala Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting according to the current collective agreement.

In your application, you must state your citizenship. Employment can only take place after verification of the work permit, as required by the Aliens Ordinance.

Employment with Uppsala Municipality may involve being placed on the war establishment (crisis staffing).
