Are you a passionate educator who loves to make a difference? Then you might be the one we are looking for! We are seeking a teacher who wants to become part of our fantastic organization with heart and engagement.

Torvallaskolan is a 7-9 school with approximately 235 students. Our school is an inspiring workplace where we put the student at the center. Everyone should feel involved, responsible, respected, and secure. At Torvallaskolan, we have a positive view of students and high expectations of each other. We use a language-developing approach in all activities and take our roles as adult role models very seriously. Our goal is to create a good operation with a high level of knowledge and great social competence together with parents and students, giving our students the best prerequisites for succeeding in life. Together, we can make a difference every day.

Your new job

As a teacher with us, you will be part of a team of teachers where you together plan and are responsible for the students' education and development. In your assignment, you will largely work with students in the study hall (individual teaching group). Your focus will be on creating the best conditions for each student in a safe and trusting environment. You support the students in their social and academic development. You challenge students to take their own initiatives, develop their interests, and take responsibility for themselves and others.

In your assignment, it may also become relevant to provide guidance (handledarskap) to some of our students. In your role as a guide, you have specific responsibility for a group of students, through which you get the opportunity to follow their study development and personal maturity more closely. As a guide, you inform and keep the student's guardians updated about the student's study development through regular development meetings.

Common tasks

  • Plan and conduct teaching according to the curriculum.
  • Collaborate with the work team regarding teaching.
  • Grade students (possibly in collaboration with subject teachers).
  • Document in the operation system.
  • Create a good environment for learning.

Your qualifications

Requirements

  • Licensed teacher with subject qualification in Swedish for grades 7–9.
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish, in speech and writing.
  • You have good knowledge of the school's steering documents and can apply them in daily work.
  • Good computer skills.

Merits

  • Subject combination in Swedish as a Second Language (SVA), English, or Social Studies (SO).
  • Experience or training in teaching students with special needs.
  • Experience working with digital systems aimed at schools.

We are looking for you!

You who have clear leadership in the classroom and the ability to capture and inspire the group you teach. You have a good understanding of people's differences and relate to them in a listening and flexible way in teaching and school life. You create good relationships and collaborate well with the contacts that occur in your professional role. We place great emphasis on personal qualities for the position.

At Torvallaskolan, you are offered exciting assignments, work in modern facilities, and opportunities for development. We welcome your application!

Start date: 2025-08-11
