We are now looking for a new colleague for our engaging and developmental workplace!

We actively work to create peace and quiet and a calm environment for our students, which is seen as one of the most important parts of a successful school. Students have the opportunity to influence both at the individual and group levels through various working groups they can participate in, such as the student council.

Hällby School is located approximately seven kilometers northwest of Eskilstuna city center, centrally in Hällbybrunn. Approximately 415 students attend Hällby School, and we have approximately 50 employees. We strive to provide good service and respectful treatment. RESPONSIBILITIES

As a school counselor, you work to promote health and prevent issues regarding our students' well-being. In addition to individual conversations, you are also proactive on the school grounds and actively engage with meeting the students. Sometimes you lead discussions in classes about health and safety issues, for example through training in MVP (Mentors in Violence Prevention).

You plan your own work and always keep the student's best interests in focus. You are part of our student health team, which consists of various professions. An important part of the role is to follow up on students' right to education based on the absence ladder and to be responsible for documenting and following up on bullying/harassment incidents. As a counselor, you also serve as a sounding board and support the school staff with supervision and guidance. The role involves close collaboration with other staff, guardians, as well as external parties and authorities.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are educated as a social worker or behavioral scientist. Alternatively, you have another university education that we assess as equivalent. It is positive if you have experience working in a school, and if you have also worked as a counselor, it is an advantage. We would like you to have experience collaborating with other efforts related to the municipality and region, such as social services. Knowledge or experience of the counseling methods MI (Motivational Interviewing) or MVP is also an advantage.

You are a calm person who is secure and stable in your professional role. You easily build trusting relationships and meet both children and adults with warmth, engagement, and sensitivity. You are self-initiating and structured but also enjoy collaborating with others. Your ability to remain calm makes you secure even in challenging situations.

Duration: Permanent, Start date: Start autumn semester as agreed.
