Stålforsskolan is a lower secondary school with approximately 550 students, centrally located in Eskilstuna, just a few minutes' walk from the train station. We are a school on a strong upward trajectory, focusing on safety, study environment, and high-quality teaching. At the center of our operations are relationships – between students, staff, and guardians. We work closely together in co-teaching, in professional learning communities, and with collegial learning led by our experienced lead teachers. Our safety work is integrated, systematic, and proactive.

Job Information

This is a temporary position from August 10 to December 18, 2026. One position available.

Responsibilities

As a school social worker, you are an important part of the school's student health team. The team consists of a school nurse, school psychologist, study and career counselor, social pedagogue, and school management. Together, you work closely with the school's homeroom teachers to promote students' health, development, and safety.

In this role, you work preventively and health-promoting by conducting school social investigations and assessments. You maintain contact and collaborate with guardians, social services, and preventive teams. You offer support conversations both individually and in groups based on the students' needs.

You are also part of the school's safety team, where you work to prevent, handle, and follow up on harassment and conflicts in a structured manner. As a school social worker, you are also involved in and drive the school's work with MVP (Mentors in Violence Prevention).

Requirements and Qualifications

We are looking for you who are passionate about creating safety for students and who have a professional, engaged, and relationship-building approach.

• A degree in Social Work (Social Work) or other education that the employer deems relevant for the position.
• Experience working with young people in schools, social services, or similar operations.
• Experience working with students who have complex school backgrounds and norm-breaking behaviors.
• Good digital competence and confidence in using digital tools.

You have a strong commitment to young people's well-being and are skilled at building trusting relationships.
