Team Leader for Family Home Care – Shape the Future of Child Welfare

The Family Home Care Unit is part of the Social Services Administration and works with family home care for children and young people. Here you will join a unit with high competence, great engagement, and a clear drive for development. The unit consists of 20 case officers, three team leaders, and a unit manager. We are organized into different functional teams focusing on support and follow-up, enhanced family home care and emergency care, as well as recruitment and matching.

As a Team Leader, you play a vital role and are part of our joint unit management, working alongside the leadership of the Family Law and Child Follow-up Unit. You will step into an organization in transition, where clear development plans exist and there are excellent opportunities to influence both working methods and results.

Responsibilities

As a Team Leader, you are responsible for leading and distributing the daily work within your team. You support staff in complex cases, provide supervision during difficult conversations, and contribute to creating structure and quality in the work. Your role plays a central part in strengthening collaboration for the best interests of the child, including contact with foster homes.

You work in a coaching and development-oriented manner with your employees, focusing on creating engagement and contributing to their professional growth. You are a stable and present leader who can remain steady in challenging situations, provide calm in times of worry, and serve as a support during change processes. The role also includes responsibility for driving method development in line with the unit's goals and contributing to strategic work within the unit.

Qualifications

You are a Social Worker (Socialsekreterare/Socionom) or Behavioral Scientist and meet the eligibility requirements set by the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen). We are looking for you to have work experience in social work, for example as a counselor, social secretary, or family home secretary. A valid B-class driver's license is required. You have previous experience working as a Team Leader or in a similar role and have experience with public authority duties.
