to apply for the job

Do you want a meaningful job where you actually make a difference – for real? We are now looking for personal assistants for a 17-year-old boy in Gnesta who has a cerebral palsy (CP) disability. This autumn, he will start high school in Stockholm and live in the school's student dormitory during the week. He therefore needs to build a new, wonderful team of assistants around him.

You will be employed by a long-standing non-profit assistance cooperative that has been a pioneer in personal assistance, where members lead their own assistants. Here, self-determination, freedom, and respect are the guiding principles – not profit.

About the Position

As a personal assistant, you are the user's "extended arms and legs" in everyday life, both at home and out at various activities.

You will among other things:

  • Support in daily situations at home
  • Be present at school, activities, errands, and possible trips
  • Help with personal care as needed
  • Create safety, structure, and a calm, positive environment
  • Be an attentive adult friend who respects privacy and dignity

Working hours are flexible, including day shifts, evening shifts, weekdays, and weekends.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking more for the right person than a perfect CV. Personal chemistry is super important.

We believe you:

  • Are secure, thoughtful, and patient – even when the day doesn't go exactly according to plan
  • Are attentive, respectful, and good at communicating calmly and clearly
  • Enjoy taking responsibility and can be both proactive and adaptable
  • Have good physical fitness as the work can be physically demanding at times
  • Are over 18 years old and can commute to and from Gnesta smoothly
  • Fluently speak and write Swedish
  • Have good computer skills
  • Hold a valid driver's license

Previous experience in personal assistance or working with people with disabilities is an advantage, but not a requirement. You will receive introduction and support in the role.

Working Hours, Salary, and Benefits

We want you to thrive for a long time, not just like the first week.

With us, you get:

  • Hourly employment or part-time with flexible shifts (day, evening, weekday, and weekend)
  • Opportunity for more work during the summer
  • Hourly wage according to the Fremia–Kommunal collective agreement
  • Scheduling in dialogue – we plan together
  • Introduction, supervision, and ongoing support
  • Wellness allowance and access to necessary assistive devices

How to Apply

Does this sound like something for you? Apply for the position via our application form and briefly tell us who you are, why you are applying for the job, and how you view the role of a personal assistant. We interview continuously, and positions may be filled before the final application deadline.

We look forward to receiving your application.
