The team includes business developers, health developers, health educators, activity coordinators, activity hosts, relatives' consultants, volunteer coordinators, dietitians, IT guides, and a handyman service, all located at our major meeting places.

On July 1, 2025, a new Social Services Act came into effect, meaning the Prevention Unit is now engaged in a joint development process to better meet the needs identified among adults and the elderly. Together, we work to offer support through outreach activities, meeting places, and volunteer work, with interventions aimed at improving physical, mental, and social health.

You have great opportunities to shape the role and participate in the development work together with your colleagues.

Our common goal is to create a safe and meaningful environment where individuals receive the support they need, through active participation in activities and by building social networks.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The position is based at our large central meeting place, which is an important gathering point for seniors, focusing on health, participation, and community. The operation is well-established and offers activities and support that promote active and meaningful aging, based on a health-promoting and preventive approach.

As an Activity Coordinator, you have coordinating responsibility for the meeting place, which means meeting our visitors and associations in a professional, accessible, and service-oriented manner. The role demands high requirements for being service-oriented, responsive, and confident in interactions with people with different needs.

  • Document, follow up, and develop interventions to ensure quality and goal achievement
  • Create monthly newsletters and advertisements, post flyers, and maintain statistics
  • Collaborate with colleagues, associations, civil society, and other actors, and contribute to business development and quality assurance
  • Supervise volunteers and interns

Together with our target groups, as well as internal and external partners, you work operationally to create developing and varied content at the meeting place. We are looking for you who want to contribute to development and dare to think new!

Working hours are primarily during the day, Monday-Friday, but evenings will occur for special activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have:

  • A university education with a pedagogical or health orientation, or equivalent post-secondary education combined with experience that the employer considers equivalent
  • Good knowledge of health-promoting and preventive work
  • Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing
  • Category B driver's license

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Previous budget responsibility
  • Experience working with seniors or the elderly
  • Experience working in meeting places/community centers
  • Experience in group leadership, adult education, or pedagogical work
  • Knowledge of salutogenic approaches, motivational interviewing (MI), or similar
  • Experience with group activities, such as exercise and other health-promoting activities

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

You are:

  • Service-oriented, accessible, and professional in your interactions
  • Responsive and respectful, with a good ability to meet people with different needs and conditions
  • Pedagogical and clear in your communication
  • Structured, self-initiating, and responsible, as well as cooperative and actively contributing to a good work climate
