ABOUT THE POSITION

Bättre Assistans is part of Inre Kraft, and we are looking for you who want to work as an hourly substitute immediately and also work on a temporary basis during the summer for our client on Sävastön in Boden.

The working hours are scheduled as 24-hour shifts starting at 08:00 and ending at 08:00 the next day, of which 8 hours are sleeping on-call. The work is scheduled on weekdays and weekends. We prefer that you, as an hourly substitute, have some availability to cover shifts during parts of the summer, but this is not a requirement.

Start date is by agreement, and we would appreciate it if you could begin your introduction as soon as possible.

ABOUT THE CLIENT

You will be working for a man in his mid-30s who lives in his own apartment on Sävastön. He has autism, multiple sclerosis (MS), and an intellectual disability, and therefore needs your help as an assistant to live a meaningful life based on his needs and wishes. The client appreciates structure, clarity, and a calm approach. In his spare time, he enjoys listening to music, playing computer games, following his favorite TV series characters, and going for walks. As a personal assistant, you will become an important part of his daily life and contribute to both companionship and quality of life.

The duties include:

  • Support in daily routines and household chores
  • Help with personal hygiene, dressing/undressing, and exercise
  • Mobility assistance using aids such as ceiling hoist, manual wheelchair, and electric wheelchair.
  • Use of communication aids such as written schedules and social stories, among others.

To provide the right support for the client's physical needs, it is required that you have the ability to establish contact and reach out in a sensitive and attentive manner.

We look for someone who is clear in their communication and has a low-affective approach when interacting with the client. It is important that you can contribute to a sense of security and structure, as the client needs predictability in daily life.

We would appreciate it if you have a sense of humor and a playful side – being able to joke and have fun together becomes a valuable part of the relationship once you get to know each other.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Healthcare experience

BENEFICIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working as a personal assistant
  • Healthcare education or equivalent
  • Experience in nursing/care
  • Familiarity with mobility assistance and the use of lifting and moving aids
  • Knowledge and experience working with autism, MS, or intellectual disabilities

Employment level: 1–2 hourly substitutes

Salary: We apply individual salary setting. Other benefits in accordance with the collective agreement.

To be employed by us at Bättre Assistans, you need to have a BankID and agree to use your BankID in the service. A prerequisite for starting employment with us is that you, as an applicant, can present a valid ID and/or submit a tax certificate (personbevis) as well as any documents proving your right to work in Sweden. You can easily download the tax certificate from the Swedish Tax Agency's website. To work as a personal assistant, you must be at least 18 years old.

If you are to work with children and young people under 18, you are required to present a certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record). From March 1, 2026, new regulations will apply, meaning the register check will include both extracts from the criminal record and the suspicion register. The extract is ordered via the Swedish Police Authority's e-service. Note that processing times may vary, so it is advisable to order in good time.
