Komvux Södermalm offers Stockholmers a physical location where the various parts of adult education are gathered: SFI (Swedish for Immigrants), basic and upper secondary adult education, university college, study and career guidance, and support functions. Your role

We are looking for you who are driven by making a difference for the students! In the role of mentor, you work closely with the students and provide individual support based on their needs. You work both preventively and promotingly, focusing on creating security, good relationships, and study peace.

The position is a fixed-term employment on a full-time or part-time basis, starting in August 2026 through May 2027.

As a mentor with us, you will work with adults who need support during their studies at Komvux, as well as actively create an organization around how the school can support young adults who lack a high school diploma.

Your assignment includes, among other things, being a mentor to students in the so-called Start-up Package:

• Conduct initial mapping conversations.
• Hold weekly individual conversations.
• Offer motivational conversations and support with structure and general study techniques.
• Maintain contact with the students' support persons at, for example, Jobbtorg Unga (Youth Job Center).
• Receive study visits prior to studies.
• Maintain close collaboration with teaching teachers, special pedagogical resources, and study and career counselors.
• Document inserted support according to the school's routines.

Examples of other tasks:

• Support for students at Komvux Södermalm, for example regarding adapted examinations, study techniques, etc.
• Develop collaboration with the city's Jobbtorg Unga which supports persons lacking a high school diploma.
• Collaborate with other actors and operations within and outside the administration.

Your competence and experience

You who apply have:

• A degree as a social pedagogue, social worker, or other relevant university education.
• Experience working with students at the upper secondary level and/or adult education.
• Good ability to create trusting relationships and communicate effectively, as well as good ability to work independently as well as in a team.
• Easy to collaborate, act with good judgment, and have a low-affective approach.
• Knowledge of how to create structure and clarity in studies.

As a person, you are secure and stable, have good self-awareness, and the ability to remain calm and controlled even under stress. You are driven by development, big and small, and motivated by results and goal achievement. We place great emphasis on personal suitability where flexibility, engagement, and teamwork are of particular importance. You are engaged in adult education and have the student's opportunity for a "second chance" in focus in your work.
