About Us

Närhälsan Vara Health Centre is located in a rural setting but centrally in the region, with proximity to cities such as Gothenburg, Vänersborg, Borås, and Herrljunga, all within approximately one hour's travel. We have approximately 14,700 registered patients and work to increase continuity of care. Therefore, we are divided into 4 teams, consisting of doctors, nurses, assistant nurses, social workers, psychologists, and administrative staff. Three times a week, the teams gather to review their patients and prepare for upcoming contacts and visits.

We have an assessment clinic every day where doctors, nurses, and assistant nurses collaborate on our acute cases. Two days a week, a physiotherapist is also included in our assessment clinic, in collaboration with Närhälsan Rehab. We also work close to the rehab clinic on other days as they have their premises in the same building. In addition to the standard health centre clinic, we also have a family centre with which Child Health Services (BVC) has a close collaboration. The same building also houses an elderly care home and short-term accommodation, and we have a well-developed collaboration with municipal health and social care.

The role of Specialist Doctor in General Medicine with us offers the opportunity to work both physically and digitally, with the possibility of working some time from home. If you are a doctor with a strong interest in teamwork and development, you are the right person for us.

About the Job

The duties cover the broad field of general medicine with clinic work, both scheduled and acute clinic hours. Some on-call duty at the Lidköping on-call centre is included in your assignment.

We achieve success together in an stimulating learning environment with open doors and a welcoming work climate. The role of Specialist Doctor with us also includes supervising ST-doctors (specialist trainees) and medical students; it is an important part of our mission to train tomorrow's healthcare personnel. We offer you varied work with good development opportunities, for example, through continuous further education of ten days per year.

About You

You are a licensed doctor and have specialist training in the field of general medicine with eligibility to work within Swedish healthcare. If you have supervisor training and have previously worked as a medical advisor or in home care, this is an advantage. Proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written, at level C1 or higher according to the Council of Europe's scale is a requirement for the position.

We are looking for someone who can work independently but still wants to participate in the development of the operations. In your work, you will meet many different patients, so it is important that you are sensitive and have a good approach to people. You thrive in teamwork, and for you, it is natural to collaborate with colleagues and other partners.
