Statens institutionsstyrelse (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individualized involuntary care for youths with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse issues. SiS LVM-hem Hornö receives men with alcohol, drug, or combined substance abuse. We admit men with mental health issues and men with acting-out behavior. Our mandate is to provide care for clients with special care needs.

Job Description

Do you want to be part of creating life-changing change for vulnerable people? Then the job as a Treatment Assistant at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a Treatment Assistant, you work in a team together with treatment educators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the clients living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified nursing and motivational work and act as a support in daily life. With the support of your knowledge within care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the completion of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work, contributing to legal security, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You contribute to maintaining safety according to our routines and help ensure that daily life runs smoothly with cleaning, cooking, etc. The work may also include mentoring new employees and interns. This is a job for you who sees a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are according to the night shift schedule.

As a new employee, you will undergo SiS basic training. The training alternates between theory and guided introduction, and it prepares you for the treatment role in SiS operations.

Qualifications

To succeed in your work, you have a solid positive view of humanity. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and share SiS's core values, being a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our clients. As a person, you are secure in yourself and easily build relationships with clients as well as with other staff members. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressurized situations. You collaborate easily with others and can handle conflicts constructively.

You must also have:

• A degree from a 2-year post-secondary education. Exceptions to this educational requirement are possible for special reasons.
• Good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written.

Meritorious experience includes:

• Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or within LSS care.

Employment:

The position is a permanent position at 83.5% night shift and begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date by agreement.
