Statens institutionsstyrelse (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individualized compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse issues. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse issues across the country. At SiS, your working life becomes an exciting challenge. SiS LVM-hem Hornö receives men with alcohol, drug, or polydrug abuse. We receive men with mental illness and men with externalizing behavior. We have the mandate to provide care for clients with special care needs.

Job Description

Do you want to be part of creating life-changing change for vulnerable people? Then the job as a Treatment Assistant at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a Treatment Assistant, you work in a team together with treatment educators and treatment coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the clients living with us receive the security, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified nursing and motivational work and act as a support in everyday life. With the support of your knowledge within care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the fulfillment of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work, contributing to legal certainty, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You contribute to maintaining security according to our routines and help ensure that everyday life runs smoothly with cleaning, cooking, etc. The work may also involve mentoring new employees and interns. This is a job for you who sees a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are according to schedule: day – evening and weekends.

As a new employee, you will undergo SiS basic training. In the training, theory alternates with supervised introduction, and the training equips you for the therapist role in SiS operations.

Qualifications

To succeed in your work, you have a solid positive view of humanity. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and you share SiS's value base, to be a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our clients. As a person, you are secure in yourself and have an easy time building relationships with clients as well as with the rest of the staff. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressured situations. You find it easy to cooperate with others and can handle conflicts in a constructive way.

You must also have:

• A degree from a 2-year post-secondary education. Possibility of exemption from this educational requirement exists for special reasons.
• Category B driver's license.
• Good Swedish language skills in speech and writing.

Meritorious experience includes:

• Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work within psychiatry or LSS care.

Employment:

The position is a permanent full-time position and begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date according to agreement.
