The employment is located within the Department of Social Work, Criminology, and Public Health Science, one of the three departments at the Academy for Health and Life. Within the department, there are four degree programs: Bachelor's program in Investigative Criminology, Bachelor's program in Social Work with a specialization in International Social Work, the Social Work program, and a Master's program in Social Work. A Master's program in Criminology is currently being developed. Additionally, there are standalone courses and commissioned education. The current doctoral education in Social Work is focused on health-promoting working life. A goal for the subject group of Social Work is to have its own exclusive degree-awarding authority within Social Work.

The Department of Social Work, Criminology, and Public Health Science is now seeking a substitute University Lecturer in Social Work; a one-year contract with the possibility of extension.

Job Responsibilities

The duties consist of teaching, supervision, examination, and course responsibility primarily within the Social Work program and the subject of Social Work, but can also be within other educational offerings in related subject areas, in both Swedish and English. Teaching takes place at both basic and advanced levels and is located partly on campus and partly via distance learning.

The employment also includes participating in the department's and subject's development work, as well as administrative work, collaboration, and internationalization. Research may be included during the competence development period if the operations allow for it, or alternatively through obtaining external funding.

The workplace is in Gävle.

Qualifications

For the position, a doctoral degree in Social Work and a Social Work degree (Social Worker) are required.

Additionally, documented pedagogical competence is required, see the Higher Education Ordinance (1993:100) and the Employment Regulations at the University of Gävle. The applicant must, considering the content and duties of the position, demonstrate good ability to express themselves in speech and writing in both Swedish and English.

The applicant must have completed higher education pedagogical training equivalent to at least ten weeks of full-time studies or acquired equivalent knowledge in another way.

Equal care is given to the assessment of scientific and pedagogical competence when appointing.
