Do you want to drive and develop the Swedish Armed Forces Procurement Unit as a Category Manager? Do you want to use your competence as an experienced Category Manager to secure Sweden's national security? At the Swedish Armed Forces, you will have a key role where your work makes a difference every day. We are now looking for a driven Category Manager to strengthen our procurement organization and thereby also the Swedish Armed Forces' capability.

About the Unit

The Swedish Armed Forces Procurement Unit is located within the unit FMLOG (Swedish Armed Forces Logistics) and is responsible for the Swedish Armed Forces' tenders and purchases in accordance with current procurement legislation. The work we perform is crucial for the Swedish Armed Forces' supply as well as strategic and operational success. We work according to a defined category management methodology and continuously work on competence development.

The Procurement Unit consists of seven departments geographically distributed in Sweden. We are looking for a Category Manager for our department Business-Close Goods & Services with a focus on ground systems and vehicles. We are unpretentious, helpful, and value mutual trust.

Main Responsibilities

The Category Manager role is broad with significant responsibility and mandate. As a Category Manager, your main responsibilities are to:

  • Be responsible for driving category initiatives in accordance with the Swedish Armed Forces' category management model, with the aim of developing procurement strategies that secure the goals established for the category.
  • Be an engaged environmental scanner who absorbs new knowledge and participates both internally and externally in various forums.
  • Together with strategic buyers, conduct tenders according to LOU/LUFS in close collaboration with clients and specialists, and conduct experience analyses for continued development.
  • Focus on good business and create close collaborations and relationships with your clients in the Swedish Armed Forces through good cooperation and anchoring work.

Qualifications

Experiences and characteristics required for the position include:

  • An academic degree with a focus on law, economics, logistics, procurement, or a vocational education with a commercial focus, alternatively experience acquired in other ways that the employer deems equivalent.
  • At least three years of relevant and current work experience in strategic category management or project management from a larger organization, authority, or public sector.
  • Current and relevant knowledge in strategic procurement and analysis work.
  • Current and relevant experience in driving commercial negotiations and making business decisions.
  • Good knowledge of the Office package.
  • Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English.

Meritorious Qualifications

It is meritorious if you have one or more of these experiences:

  • Experience of working in large, complex procurement organizations.
  • Experience of change management and change work.
  • Current experience of tendering and managing complex international contracts.
  • Experience of procurement according to LOU/LUFS.

Personal Qualities

You are a driven person with good judgment who enjoys both leading and being part of a team. You are result-oriented, resilient, and analytical, and are used to working with several tasks simultaneously under time pressure. You have a very good ability to plan, organize, and prioritize your work. You are resilient and take responsibility for independently and together with others delivering a good result. The ability to analyze and see the whole picture to meet the Swedish Armed Forces' procurement needs is of great importance. It is important that you are a team player and value the team before the individual.

Start date as soon as possible according to agreement. The position is a permanent employment starting with a six-month probationary period. The position is located in Stockholm. Job trials may occur during recruitment.
