RESPONSIBILITIES

The mission of the Resource Unit rests on both national and local steering documents and is part of the regular operations. In the Resource Unit, the student should develop and be given more individual conditions regarding knowledge, skills, and social interaction in accordance with the current goals in the steering documents. The goals are based on the school's knowledge mandate. The task is to initiate a change process in the student in close collaboration with the referring school and the family.

Sofieberg is a special teaching group for students with neuropsychiatric functional variations who are in great need of special support to best be able to benefit from the education. The unit receives students from Grade 1 to Grade 9, where students are divided into different work teams depending on age and needs. In the work team, teachers and teaching assistants work closely together and share responsibility for the students in the team. There are 5–8 students in the work team, and there is a high staff density to meet the students' needs.

The position includes teaching, documentation, evaluation, and follow-up of students' knowledge development, writing pedagogical investigations and action plans, as well as being a mentor for a number of students and maintaining contact with guardians. Part of the work also involves motivation and change work, supporting students to find the joy of learning. In the work at the Resource Unit, you follow the students throughout the entire school day, both during lessons and during breaks, as the work also involves helping students develop their social skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a Grade 4–6 Teacher in Math, Swedish, English, Social Studies.

You have previous experience working with children and young people with neuropsychiatric functional variations and work in a low-affective and solution-focused manner to achieve success.

You are accustomed to working with computers, iPads, or other digital tools and see this as a natural aid for the student during the school day. Adapting students' schedules with the help of visual supports and using time timers or sand timers to facilitate time perception is something you see as natural.

We would appreciate it if you had special pedagogical competence or other education/experience that can help students develop further both socially and pedagogically.

Your teaching is characterized by creativity and engagement, making students curious and eager to learn more. You work in a low-affective manner and have a solution-focused approach. You are innovative and find teaching methods that suit each student's learning style, which also develops the students, the operations, and yourself. You are expected to have active participation in collegial learning both within the subject and with other colleagues, both in the work team and at the unit. You are a person who enjoys working closely with other colleagues in the team/work team, and you help each other provide students with the right conditions to succeed and feel well. You are sensitive and have the ability to listen to the students/people/guardians you come into contact with and adapt your working method/attitude to their different needs.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS

The position is 50%, and the working hours are scheduled for Thursdays and Fridays.

Type of employment: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer, start date: Provided that necessary decisions are approved, the employment will start on 2026-08-10.
