Here, you will tackle a concrete climate challenge in a complex operation with significant impact from construction and civil engineering projects. The goal is to convert existing data into a practical methodology for how carbon sinks can be integrated, monitored, and factored into decisions regarding materials, technology, and implementation.

You work closely with the operations and help the organization distinguish between emission reductions, substitution effects, and actual carbon storage. The assignment covers both storage in materials and structures, as well as, where relevant, solutions related to land, soil, and vegetation. The deliverables must be useful in daily work without the need for advanced specialist competence or external tools. This is a role for you who want to combine climate data, analysis, and methodology development in a job that can have a clear impact on future construction and civil engineering projects.

• You analyze how carbon sinks can be integrated into the construction and civil engineering process in a climate-relevant, economically justified, and practically feasible way.
• You identify and prioritize measures based on climate benefit, cost, feasibility, and effort.
• You develop simplified calculation principles and overview cost-benefit analyses to compare different climate measures.
• You analyze total climate benefit, including both substitution benefit and stored carbon, without double counting.
• You map the need for climate data, such as EPDs, reference cases, and quantity data.
• You propose principles for requirements in procurement as well as how carbon sinks can be documented and integrated into climate reporting.
• You conduct interviews and dialogue with key persons, gather relevant industry experience, and perform a general landscape analysis of standards and regulations such as CRCF and digital product passports.
• You produce a practical decision support tool and a comprehensive report with methodology, work model, prioritized measures, data and calculation principles, monitoring structure, and proposals for procurement requirements.

• Documented experience with climate calculations related to the construction and civil engineering sector.
• Experience with Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) and climate impact from building materials.
• Experience with analyzing carbon sinks or embedded carbon in materials.
• Experience in developing practically applicable decision support tools or models.
• Experience with cost-benefit analyses.
• Experience with steering through procurement.
• Good knowledge of relevant standards, such as the GHG Protocol or equivalent.
• Experience in conducting analyses and presenting results in decision-making materials.
• Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

• Experience working with public procurement according to LOU (Public Procurement Act).
• Experience working in municipal organizations or other public operations.
• Experience analyzing material choices in construction processes.
