In our operations, we meet people of all ages, including children, young people, parents, individuals with substance abuse issues, or those with social psychiatric disabilities, victims of violence, and those in need of financial support. We work with authority-based decisions, needs-assessed interventions, as well as preventive and advisory measures to reach people early.

Our organization has transitioned to a first-line social service model with a single entry point for citizens, meaning all cases are initially handled by a common reception unit. Subsequently, investigations and further interventions take place in a second-line unit. This working method aims to make social services more accessible and efficient for everyone in need of support. Collaboration is a central part of our approach, as we value supporting each other to achieve the best possible results for those we serve.

Responsibilities

Are you an empathetic and driven person who is passionate about making a difference in others' lives? A central part of your role is to encourage an active and meaningful leisure time to break isolation and create social contacts. The role also involves providing daily support and practical help to facilitate daily life, as well as administering medication. You will plan and carry out various activities to activate and engage our users.

Personal care is another important part of your work, where you offer support with personal hygiene and meals, contributing to security and dignity. You also work on creating fixed routines for sleep and diet, which promotes health and well-being.

To facilitate understanding and handling of daily life, you will provide cognitive support and clarify various activities. You help individuals develop social skills and motivate them to reach their goals. You will also support contacts with authorities and collaborate with guardians or administrators.

Documentation and planning of interventions according to implementation plans are also part of your duties.

Qualifications

To work within social services, you need to be secure, stress-resistant, and possess personal maturity. You should also be service-oriented and sensitive to the individual's needs. You value differences and understand that different backgrounds, cultures, and group affiliations can affect individuals in different ways. You have good collaboration skills and are willing to share your own knowledge and experiences and are open to learning from others. You have empathy in encounters with other people and have a genuine interest in working with people.

For this role, we prefer that you have upper secondary education with a focus on care and nursing, behavioral science, or pedagogical focus, or alternatively another form of post-secondary education that we find suitable for the position. If you lack relevant education, you need to have long experience of working with care and the target group, which consists of individuals with mental disability and addiction.

In addition, you must have:

• Ability to handle digital tools and systems.
• Category B driver's license.
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as the duties include documenting and planning based on implementation plans, and communication is the primary tool for working with our users.

We consider it meritorious if you have education and competence in:

• Low Affective Approach (LÅB)
• Clarity Pedagogy
• ESL
• Motivational Interviewing
• RACT
• Case Management
• Further education in psychiatry
• AKK (Augmentative and Alternative Communication)

Experience of working with care as well as individuals with mental disability and addiction is seen as meritorious. So is experience of collaborating with various authorities and societal actors.

Employment terms

Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer, start date: 2026-08-31. Fixed-term until 2027-05-31.

In light of the fact that social services are undergoing a transformation to meet the intentions of the new Social Services Act, there is an ambition that the operations can be allocated additional resources, provided political decisions are made. If this happens, the fixed-term employment may be converted into a permanent position.
