Our operations are growing and we are now looking for new employees within the Customer Support department of the Business Unit Underwater Systems, part of the Kockums Naval business area, to strengthen our ability to support our customers' operational capabilities in underwater systems.

Role Overview

As a Product Engineer, you will be part of our support organization working on studies, investigations, and maintenance/development of maintenance concepts. You will serve as a crucial link, contributing experience from operational deployment and handling of current systems to support our development organization.

You will also provide important support to our own and our customers' maintenance organizations, ensuring the functionality and performance of operational systems. This work takes place both on-site at our customers' locations and in our own facilities/workshops.

The position is based in Karlskrona. Travel between our sites and to customers (both nationally and internationally) is a natural part of this role.

Main Responsibilities

  • Technical analysis/investigation (fault reports, studies, etc.)
  • Act as case manager for service and maintenance assignments (cost estimation, quotation, execution, and delivery)
  • Maintain technical documentation for operational underwater systems
  • Participate in projects and contribute valuable experience from operational deployment and handling of underwater systems to support our development unit
  • Assist our product management with, among other things, the creation and further development of system lifecycle plans
  • Assist in troubleshooting systems/subsystems, both in operational environments and in workshop settings
  • Plan and conduct technical training

Who are we looking for?

You are a driven and motivated team player, ready to tackle the challenges the team faces in a borderless and engaged manner. You enjoy working both independently and collaboratively. You have a strong interest in understanding the relationship between the operational availability, function, and performance of systems in relation to our customers' demanded operational capabilities. You value creating and maintaining good customer relationships based on mutual trust and business acumen. You appreciate contributing to the development of the team's collective capabilities as well as positively contributing to the personal development of each individual colleague.

To fit the role, you should have:

  • A degree in Engineering in a relevant field, or alternatively, a background from the Swedish Navy (Försvarsmaktens Marina verksamhet)
  • Good ability to read and interpret technical information
  • Strong ability to build long-term relationships and collaborate with others
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and PDM systems
  • Good proficiency in Swedish and English, both written and verbal

Merits

  • Experience from the development of technical systems
  • Experience with underwater systems (Torpedo systems, Underwater Vehicles, or Sensor systems)
  • Experience in training others in the handling of technical systems
  • Experience in practical maintenance of technical systems (electronics, software, and mechanics)

The position requires you to undergo and pass security clearance according to current regulations. For positions where our customer has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail citizenship requirements.
