Job Responsibilities and Areas of Responsibility
Do you want to lead the development of tomorrow's automation solutions in a business where technology, digitalization, and production are high on the agenda?
As Automation Manager, you will have a key role in Alfa Laval's continued development. You are responsible for setting the strategic direction for the automation area while acting as a senior technical resource and leader for a team of automation engineers. The role combines long-term development with operational support for the business and involves close collaboration with production, maintenance, IT/OT, production technology, and external partners. As a member of the technical management group, you are also expected to contribute leadership and business support across departmental boundaries. You act as a natural backup to other technical managers and contribute to strong collaboration where the management group supports each other in daily operations.
You will contribute to strengthening the factory's competitiveness through the development of automation solutions linked to digitalization, Industry 4.0, AI-supported quality solutions, and connected production environments. An important part of the assignment is to ensure that automation contributes to increased availability, improved quality, and higher productivity in the business.

The role involves strategic and leadership responsibility, but also offers the opportunity to participate personally in technical automation projects and development initiatives when needed. Your Profile

You have a strong technical foundation in industrial automation and feel confident making technical decisions while being motivated by developing both employees and working methods. To succeed, you need to be able to create direction and engagement in a competent and independent group without micromanaging. You thrive in a coaching leadership role where you build trust, develop people, and contribute to strong collaboration, both within your own group and together with other leaders in the business.
The role requires that you have
If you also have experience in strategic development work, investment calculations, and business cases, as well as knowledge in AI, machine learning, and SCADA/HMI system platforms such as Siemens, Rockwell, and Beckhoff, we consider this advantageous.
