Care for people with disabilities

Do you want to make a difference – every day?

Within our care services, we work to support individuals with various disabilities in their daily lives. Our goal is to create conditions for as independent and meaningful a life as possible, where every individual receives the support needed to feel secure, included, and experience quality of life.

We are now looking for a new colleague for our group home at Terra Nova Torg in Visby. Five residents live here, and you will become part of an engaged and competent team with long experience and a big heart for their work.

We offer you a varied and stimulating job where you can take responsibility, develop, and contribute your skills. Here you have the opportunity for both personal and professional development, and of course, we offer a wellness allowance and wellness time as part of our focus on health and well-being.

Your responsibilities

As a support assistant, you and your colleagues work with IBIC (Individual Needs in Focus) as the foundation.

You work with supporting, motivating, and assisting residents in daily life, as well as interpreting and clarifying everyday situations. All our residents have different needs, and your task is to provide individually adapted support. Sometimes this involves extensive care, other times it involves pedagogical support, motivation, and guidance. Regardless of the need, your contribution is important and makes a difference.

The work is characterized by a pedagogical approach, a clear and structured way of working, and a low-affective interaction style. As a support assistant, you provide pedagogical and practical support with both social activities and household chores, as well as personal care and transfers. You participate in the development of quality in operations, at various meetings, training sessions, and in supervision.

The position includes being a contact person, which means you are responsible for drafting and revising implementation plans, keeping records, and contacting relatives and representatives/guardians.

You work based on a basic schedule with day/evening shifts, weekends, and on-call sleeping duty.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who have a completed education within healthcare and social care, child and youth care, social pedagogy, or personal assistance. A valid B-driver's license is required for the position.

Previous experience in care for people with disabilities is an advantage.

As a person, you are flexible, service-oriented, and have good collaboration skills. You are confident in yourself and your professional role, showing personal maturity in interactions with others. With a calm and respectful approach, you have the ability to see each individual's needs and find solutions based on the operation's goals and guidelines.

You have good communication skills, are attentive, clear, and adapt your way of conveying messages to the recipient. You are confident in the Swedish language, both spoken and written, as all communication and documentation takes place in Swedish.

We assume that you share the LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) intentions regarding a humanistic view of humanity, values, and good treatment.

We warmly welcome your application!
